1970 & 1971 Grabber Yellow Question

I was trying to make a color match for Grabber Yellow and I thought I nailed it, but I have an issue: My DuPont paint chips for 1970 & 1971 are a tad different - 1971 shows an ever-so-slight hint of green over 1970, yet the paint codes are the same. As best I can tell from pictures online, it should be a dead-bright yellow.

If anyone could confirm this, I'd appreciate it.

I thought paint chip books were gospel - are they apt to goofs or do the chips tend to fade over time?

Thanks,

There never was a Grabber Yellow in 1970. There was only Bright Yellow and Light Ivy Yellow in 70. 1971 was the first year for Grabber Yellow.

Oops - correct. Both colors are referred to as Competition Yellow (Mercury) - While the Ford names are different, the codes are the same.

So Bright Yellow and Grabber yellow *are* two different colors? That would mean the chips are correct and there's a typo in the book. I know updates and corrections were sent out from time to time for these things.

Thanks,

From the paint sheets I've seen yes, they are different. The GY does seem to be darker and have a slight green tint to it.
