As for the front end of the Mustang (And Fusion), Ford hired the designer of the Aston Martin Vantage and DB9, and the front end looks almost exactly like those cars.

Because the Dart is the American Alfa for now and as close as we are getting for a bit.

I think Ford did a good job being a little different while obtaining a similar feel to the Aston. This isn't a bad thing. Looks better than a lot of manufacturers with the weird open grill with safety bar through the front. Like the Lancer, GT-R and even Honda Civic.
