The 2015 Saleen 302 Black Label Mustang is Yellow, but Not Mellow

Ford Performance is going to crank out some eagerly anticipated high-output machines, such as the Shelby GT350R and 2017 GT, but it's not the only game in town for brawnier Blue Ovals. After some well-known highs and lows, Saleen continues to make Mustangs into race horses.

The question is.. How long will Saleen remain in existence

Nice. I like the front end. It doesn't look like a Fusion anymore

I was looking at buying the 2015 Shelby GT but after I seen this now I have another option. I'm a fan of Shelby and Saleen so either way works for me as I've owned both. There are a few things on the car I do not like especially the taillight panel covering up the 3rd light it would never make it on my car. I do not like the 5-star wheels these have been done to death and frankly do not look good on the new body. Not sure what he was thinking on the Black Label front-end as now it looks like the Camaro. Some of you said great doesn't look like Fusion anymore but not it looks very close to the Camaro. I know for the price you are getting way more options then SAI offering on the GT and the car is about $7k less. I really DO NOT like Ford's 2015 Mustang colors so with Saleen offering these custom paint finishes that could make me lean towards the Saleen

If they can get their prices in a competitive range, especially for the product, they'll remain around for a long time.

About the front end... anyone seeing Hellcat Charger?

I've always been a fan of Saleen so... (even with their gaping 2013-14 rear ends) they have my vote.

And they grafted a new Charger nose to it.

At first I also thought the front end looks similar with the Camaro's as well, but afterwards I see more of the 2010-12 GT front end more than anything else

I also don't like the taillight panel covering the 3rd tri-bar light, as it just doesn't look right nor looks as a Mustang should IMO..

Although I like the Saleen overall, I really don't feel the car is worth 73k + and would be far better off waiting for the Shelby GT350 this upcoming fall..

In fact, you'd be much better off going with the Challenger Hellcat over than the Saleen for far less than 73k..

At any rate, if your truly leaning towards the Saleen ? My advice would be get it A.S.A.P while Saleen is still in existence !

I definitely see it. But, like you, I think it looks great with this body style.
Great looking car. A little on the pricey side for me though, if the 73k price tag is accurate.

I see 2010-2012 GT - ish front end, that's why I like it. Not for $70k +, no way.

I agree with the comments about it taking inspiration from the '10-'12 Mustangs, and that's no bad thing.

I think it looks FANTASTIC here

I don't care for the painted B-Pillar on the Saleen, as it looks more like a 2 door hardtop with posts

I retract that sentence after reading more about what entails in these builds. Definitely worth it.

Good luck purchasing one For starters there's nobody in their sales dept who bothers answering the phones..

And second, who in their right mind is going to fork over 73k when there are no Saleen dealerships to be found..

With that being said, you have 2 fine examples that Saleen is that much closer to oblivion and technically have been since 2009 anyhow..

IMHO Steve Saleen should had left well enough alone after the company was sold to Saleen Performance Vehicles in Troy Michigan !

Hmmmmmmmm,.........are you sure??
That's odd,.........I had someone email me about the information that I sent away for just recently. They wanted to speak on phone or to know if they should just send the written material to me.
Also,....the closest Saleen dealership is about 2 miles or less from my home. Are you sure about what you wrote here? (Not being facetious, just want to know what's what. Maybe Saleen hasn't updated their website in a while?? Thanks.)

I'll try my best to address your concerns and I'll can say is I spoke with someone who goes by the name of Lina who's one of the office managers at Saleen who referred me to contact Derek Hall in their new sales dept..

I made several attempts to contact him by phone between October and November of 2014, as a friend of mine was interested in purchasing one of the Black Label edition 2014 Saleen S302 models.. In addition I also had another friend of mine who's one of the sales managers at my local Ford dealership attempt to contact him as well..

However all we had to show for our efforts was getting the same old voice mail inbox and to please leave a message.. Needless to say after leaving numerous voice messages, nobody ever bothered to return any of our phone calls and btw: my local dealership used to also be an authorized Saleen dealer..

With that being said, we both finally gave up and after reading over several articles in which one of them is posted on TMS.. We came to the conclusion that Saleen as a company is more than likely headed towards bankruptcy as a result of their inability to recover from the financial toll that took place after re-acquiring the company from the parent company of Saleen Performance Vehicles that was based in Troy Michigan..

At any rate, of course I can't say that I'm 100% sure, however this is what I suspect is more than likely going to take place..

I've also attached the link below concerning Saleen's financial status which was posted right here on TMS back on November of 2014..

In the meantime, I hope that I've addressed some of your questions and concerns..
