I don't understand how that car was totalled with that damage. The air bags weren't even set off.

The door gaps are relatively even which indicates the energy from the impact didn't travel far past perhaps the front rail sections and aprons. There is most certainly uni-body misalignment but it appears minimal at worst.
Generally speaking, an insurance company will total a car at 75-80% to value. If this is just a base GT350, figure the minimum value is at a approximately $48,000. At 75% there would have to be over $36,000 in damage. There's no way it sustained that much damage.
There are reasons why it may have been totaled which are too involved to get into, but actual damage is not one of them in my professional opinion.

It doesn't make sense to me either. It appears the driver of the GT350 caused a direct rear impact to another car. That means the Shelby probably was braking which dipped the nose and the impact was higher in the front. The air bags wouldn't deploy in that scenario if my assumptions are correct. Most of the damage would be to the radiator support and front sheet metal.

I think it has the tech package which would put it up into the high $50k range. Their estimated retail value on it says $57,468.

So... yeah, just for grins, I went to FordParts.com to see what them parts, near as I can tell, would be, not including labor and paint.
At MSRP, which is what the insurance would use, I believe, the cost of the front end of that car in parts alone is $22,671.87
So with the labor and other materials? Yeah, this could get to the 30K range or so... and probably did.
Quick list of parts includes the hood, fenders (yes, they're all done) bumper and covers, complete, fender supports, radiator supports, rails, and engine cradle. And there's probably a few other items that I didn't catch, being not an estimator, nor having a product such as CCC1 at my disposal... However, being the IT guy for dealerships, I could do such a thing..
Anyway, 70% or so of them parts is "Shelby Version", and that means it's way more expensive than any other model of those Mustangs.
I mean, the stripe kits for the affected parts *alone* is a combined $2300+. For *stickers*.
This, right here, is why I don't own anything this fancy, why I got out of my SVO, because parts are difficult and/or expensive, usually both, on a special thing like this car.
Don't. Bend. Them.
/yes, I'm sure the body shop can and would get a better deal than MSRP, but the insurance estimates are what they are, and would be MSRP. My recent price for my front GT bumper was exactly that, for example, when Awesome recently got smacked a little by a big dang truck.
