Will 50th Anniv LE be rarest Mustang?

At 1964 units, will the 50th Anniversary cars be the rarest Mustngs? Was any other production Mustang (not Shelby, Roush, etc.) built in smaller numbers?

Thinking about an "investment" Mustang?

If you are, don't look into the 50th for that. Buy it, drive the crap out of it, let your heirs worry about collectability.

No, just curious. I would never buy a new car as an investment.

It will not be the rarest and its value will go down just like the 40th anniversary. There has not been a Mustang built since 1973 that has gained value after its initial sale that I know of. And when you look at the value of $1 in 1973 and the value of $1 now, the value of many have not gained much at all.

There are also many color combinations more rare. Take blaze yellow GT coupe for example. There were around 500 made in 2012. Sometimes the special edition cars result in more identical cars than non special edition cars.

There's ONE convertible 2015 white Mustang being made with the 50th anniversary package on it, to be auctioned off for charity ... doesn't get more rare than ONE, right?

Many more modern and rare cars come to mind. Here's my favorites.

Saleen Sterling Edition -25
Saleen Parnelli Jones Boss -60
Saleen SA/15 -16

I'm sure the new S351 will produce about 10 as well.

how about one of the first 279 1969 boss 429s with the S series nascar motor... theres been a lot of special editions that had more than funky windows/chrome trim and emblems

back in '82 I had a chance to buy KK1311 (the 111th 69 boss 429) for 8500 and could not get a loan for that car...even at 18, I knew that car woulda been a keeper and 8500 would be cheep someday

I think there were like 100 legend lime 'verts with parchment tops in 06, rare combos are just that- I'd rather have the boss429
