Sport mode: what does it really do?

I've found all articles discussing this to generally be related to automatic trannies, but what does it do in the manual? Just makes the throttle "more responsive" or something? And if thats the case, what does track mode really do? Disable traction control or something? The manual says not to use track mode on public roads but it doesnt say why. And I dont want to enable sport mode on my morning commute if it turns off other safety features or something.

I'm not talking about the steering feel, I'm talking about the drive mode.

It's likely just like the earlier models, in that it loosens up both traction and stability control, without turning them off. In my 2014 this allows for a little wheel spin and slight lateral movement before kicking in, and when it does kick in it isn't as abrupt as with it off.

In my car, the Sport+ mode seems to do just as what you and Joeywhat combined said. The throttle seems more responsive, and the traction and stability control seem to allow for a little more "fun" before they kick in.

As with track mode, it does disable the traction and stability control. To me, throttle response seems about the to be the same as Sport+ when in track mode.

If anyone has more information on this though, I would be open to hear it. I was trying the different modes throughout the week just to see if I can get any more information, but just do not seem to be coming up with a lot on it.

Agreed on the throttle response in sport + and track mode. I also noticed when you switch to wet/snow on the fly a noticeable change in the engine occurs.

Agreed. More responsive in sport, and dull/muted in wet/snow.
