Hello folks. I'm as soon-to-be new owner. My current plan is to buy a new Mustang GT around the end of the year...or early next year. However I recently stumbled across a 2015 GT at a local dealer equipped just the way I'd want...except for the Voice Activated Navigation; I don't care about navigation. Anyways, I'm not quite ready to buy, but buying THAT car would save me having to hunt one down later; or have to special order it. The car I found is MSRP of $41,700 and the dealer is offering it to me for $37,000. That seems like an OK deal but in order for the monthly payments to land where I need them the price would have to be $35,000. Am I looking for to big of a discount?


Next question. If I waited a few more months but couldn't find my car locally, and decided to special order, could I still expect a good markdown on the price?

 

Offer them 35000 and see what happens. You should have bought two weeks ago when ford had 0 for 72 with 1000 cash back that's what I did. If you order a new you'll never get that large of a discount.

 

I've made it clear to them that I'd happily sign if they'd drop it to $35,000. If only I'd have known about the 0% deal sooner.

I used X-Plan and TrueCar, both of which gave a similar price. Any idea what invoice is on the car? I would expect on a 2015 that you should be able to easily get below invoice because that's basically what you can order a new car for under X-Plan.

I wouldn't expect to get too far under invoice yet, they probably haven't had the car long enough to give you the entire hold back.

 

did you try out hitting tommy vaughn and Mac Haik Ford dealers, when i purhcased mine i went to 10 -12 dealership and finally when i landed 6k less than MSRP which was 40,535. i did not take any discount or xplan or paper cut outs. just visited them, looked the inventory picked what i like and then said i will take if it is for this $. you will get NO quickly, just walk away dont even think for second.

 

Yeah, it's how I got mine. I wouldn't have known either, but my brother in law revealed that he's getting a GT 350, so I went online to build one for fun and right across the first page of the website was the 0% deal. I'd been planning to get one a little later but pushed up to take advantage.
