Shifting Thunk

Shifting Thunk
2015 GT, 5.0 PP MT6.....
Traded a 2012 GT 5.0 Brembos, MT 6, 3.55 rear for the above. Have read a number of threads talking about a mutted, muffelled thunk on shifting from 1 to 2 and 2 to 3 regardless of the speed driven or quickness of the shift. Car has less than a 1000 miles on it. Anybody out there who has similiar experience and even with more mileage. Any responses as to problems or cures

I've heard that hand dressing or plating the syncros helps tremendously. There is a shop in Maryland that does this...forgot the name and the specifics of what they do though.

I may have to modify my first response based on my assumption the noise was coming from the back end.
After driving the car 10 miles today, outside temps at 65 and everything warmed up I noticed:
1- with the car at idle and clutch out, it idled at one rpm, pushing the clutch in raised the idle speed approx 200 rpm.
2->>>pushing the clutch in and shifting to first(no delay) i noted a similar thunk. Clutch in, wait 2 seconds then to first.... No thunk
3- pushing the clutch in and going into 2nd first and then into 1st, eliminated the problem.
4- starting out in 1st and doing a one count before going into 2nd mostly eliminated the thunk.
While not exactly scientific, it tells me maybe the MT82 is still too tight and needs to work itself loose. i haven't seen any posts with trans having 5 to 10k miles on it and these thunks still around.
Earlier this year i had changed my 2012 MT oil to the dual clutch fluid and added the tube of friction modifier and it made a major difference.
So, FWIW.

If Delsha is on line and has any other input as to the thunk noise, it would be appreciated.
i when to the dealer yesterday for an alignment ck and to het their input on the transmission thunk as noted above and the first post on this thread. Edmonds.com suggests checking the CV joints and the driveshaft but that seem to be in order. The Service Manager said the noise is normal and not to worry about it.
Unfortunately at this point, I have no other choice. Spending mid 40k on a car with this problem is an option I did not want. My previous Mustangs M82 did not have this problem.
If there is any other input on this , it would be appreciated.

I have 5000 miles on my 2015 GT PP 6-speed and have started skipping gears lately. Usually 1-3 or 2-4 upshifts then 5th on suburban roads or 6th on the interstate. First is very low for street use and the close ratios mean not all gears are necessary in light acceleration. Slight downhill start? 2-4-5, uphill? 1-3-5. Easy, efficient, less wear on all parts. I've found 1-3-5 is almost exactly the same as a 3-on-the-tree manual shifter back in the day. You can even get away with a 2-4-6th gear upshift getting on the freeway with no traffic if you're a MPG type. Clunking during shifts? My experience has found it's the Torsen diff locking up. No problem, normal Torsen noise. Enjoy.
