Oil Dipstick Reading on 5.0L 2016

I am having difficulty in getting a good clear oil display on the oil level on the dipstick of my 2016 GT, 5 L . It does have the structural strut across the engine bay. Not sure if this causes any problems retrieving the dipstick for a clear read. One side of the stick shows a oil level line, the other side shows oil all up and down in the same area as the full or low marks are stamped into the stick.
Any suggestions on how to get a clean reading. And how many quarts of oil should Ford be using in a oil change. ( I know what the manual states).
Thanks

My '13 5.0 has always taken the stated 8 quarts when I change the oil and filter.

I gotta think if you check it in the AM - after it has sat 8 hours or more - then both sides of the stick should be bone dry - & you'll get a clear reading!

What he said. The tube of the dipstick is kind of bent so oil will touch the stick when it is being moved. Checking in the AM is most reliable time to get a true reading.

If they or you are changing the oil and filter then you definitely need 8 qts. Ford techs will use that much on a change. Don't worry about over filling. This engine when drained while the car is on a level surface can dump 99% of its oil if you are also changing the filter. A tip here is to pour oil into the new filter before installing it. That minimizes the time between start up and oil circulation in the engine.

Mine takes 8.5 quarts. When I go tot he Ford Dealer to get the oil the guy brings me 9 quarts because it takes over 8. If I pull out the stick and then clean it put back in you can read it. But it is a pain.

Definitely clean/wipe the dipstick, put it back and then check it to get an accurate reading.
