Newbie question

Hello, I am new to the forum and live in South Florida. I am getting my 2020 GT a Whipple Supercharger and E85 Fuel. I am concerned because there is only one E85 fuel station close to me . Is there a way to use both premium fuel and E85? I saw something on YouTube where there were 2 different tunes loaded in the same GT one for each type of fuel. Any advise is greatly appreciated . Thanks in advance

I am not sure if you could or not. I have been reading up on this and everything that I have read is all over the place. Some say yes with the right tunes on a mustang and some say absolutely not. If it were me I would just stick to regular gas and not mess with it even though prices are going to go up it's betterthan having something go wrong because of it.

Yeah, that's what I was finding too. I can't seem to pin down what's right or not. There's too many ways to skin this catfish, and the truth is some of them don't use OEM computers, or just load/unload tunes, or...

I think you need to consult a proper, local tuner for your needs. I'm sure there's a few about in the Homestead/Miami area who'll figure it out and fix you up. You really don't wanna mess it up because of the wrong fuel and the wrong tune.

That said, I've seen where the computer is capable of switching tunes from methanol and pump gas with a switch on the dash or something, but it involves a switching of the fuel system and a good drain of whatever fuel you're swapping from. OR... you can do what they're doing with Cleetus McFarland's Mullet race El Camino and run two complete fuel systems. All they have to do is disable one or the other system, flip the switch to the right one, and tada, it's done. You could do that, only with E85 instead of methanol...

OR... if the computer's smart enough and can have the sensor added to it... get a pump gas/E85 flex fuel sensor and have the tune made to auto adjust to what's in the fuel lines on the fly. Make your Mustang a true Flex Fuel car!

For what my thoughts are on it. I'd definitely look into the Flex Fuel setup, be so much easier. All you'd have to do is flip a valve to swap the tanks and off ya go.

And welcome to the forums!
