I love when you can shut down an idiot driver.

For the record, I hate "those Mustang Drivers" we have around town here. There's a lot of inconsiderate Mustang drivers. Doing burnouts after Cars and Coffee events when asked not to, because the property just happens to be the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. There's always talk on the event Facebook page about how "All the Mustang Drivers" are idiots.

Anyway. 98% of the time, I don't try to call attention to myself. But if someone attacks me personally, I'm going to shut them down.

Last night about 10:30pm I was in the left lane of a 4 lane city road. Unfamiliar to me, I didn't realize they had the two center lanes blocked for construction, leaving just the two outside lanes open.

Seeing the baracade coming up, I use my turn signal (I ALWAYS USE IT. Not using it is my biggest pet peeve), and here in Indy, when you use your turn signal, that tells the other driver that I'm coming into your lane, and they must ALWAYS speed up to try to block you.

So I see this guy about 50 yards back following this rule. He's speeding up, but too far back to block me. Then he gets right on my tail and honks his horn.

As we're going through the construction zone on city streets, doing the posted 25 mph for that zone, in a normal 40mph zone, he's swerving back and forth like he's trying to find a way to pass me.

When we clear the construction zone, he whips his car so fast into the other lane, and floors it. At this point, I can hear he has a 4-cylinder coffee can powered car. Once he gets beside me, I opened it up, and boy, he dropped back so quick, it was like he slammed on the brakes.

We get up to the stop light and he's not too pleased with me. "Hey! Nice Car F'n moron! Learn how to f'n drive you piece of #h!t."

I've never wanted to get out of a car more than that time right there. I'm not from Indy, and out of the 5 states I've lived in, Indy has probably the worst drivers I've ever seen. So passive agressive.

But I kept my cool, and drove off in another direction. But I'm sure his blood boiled even more when I wouldn't let him get in front of me. You can't be an idiot like that, and not expect me to do something about it.

This is just one of many stories like that. This was just the first one where I had someone running their mouth so much afterwards.

What kind of idiots have you run into?

I don't know if any of you are State Farm members, and don't care about them tracking your driving habits. They have a Drive Safe and Save program. They analyze your driving ability and give you a discount based on it. My agent said I could be doing donuts in the middle of the intersection and it would never hurt my payments, it could only make them better, unless I've incorrectly stated how many miles I drive in a year. Said that's the only way my rate would go up.

The green bar is how I drive. The grey bar is the average in the state of Indiana.

The mileage and speed alone would keep me from letting them monitor me

I still have nothing to hide anyways. Mileage is correctly reported, and driving ability is spot on. I did take it out when I took it to the dealer to get the wheels painted. Glad I did too, cause some jackass took it for a morning joyride. My Automatic tracked several hard brakes and accelerations.

But this is not necessarily a post a about State Farm. It's about the pot calling the kettle black. State Farm already knows pretty much everything about me anyways. That's their job.

I considered getting that device just to **** with State Farm. The problem is they would likely just turn the evidence over to the po-po. After a week I bet I could set a new record they have on lateral acceleration, time with go pedal to the floor, and number of times over triple digits in a key cycle, and likely top speed . Though I'm sure someone with a Porsche or a Ferrari or Lambo already did that last bit.

I track the car, and I've seen 1.27g lat, as well as speeds upwards of 153. But it takes a lot of road to go that fast.

I am generally a cautious driver. I let people in and I don't care about being passed. But sometimes I feel the need. When the conditions allow. You know what I mean.

I know! 40 is pretty easy to triple in these cars. Which is why I never do it either.
