Can I Put 275/40ZR19 Tires on the Front (matching the back?)?
We have a 2016 with Performance Package, and were wondering if we could put 275/40ZR19 (the size on the rear) on the front as well....with no ill effects? This would allow us to rotate the tires, and I would think give more grip.....is this a bad idea? We don't race our track our car but enjoy driving the heck out of it.

They should fit just fine, as I have 285-30-20's for my rear and there's still plenty of room between the inner fender lip.. As for the fronts ? I wouldn't recommend anything larger than 275-35-20's and that's even cutting it pretty close IMHO.. Your best bet would be to contact the tire manufacturer just to be on the safe side..

the 275/40R19 is only slightly larger (7%) than the 255 stock tires. It will fit the 9" rims well and you shouldn't have any clearance problems. I'm not sure if the rear wheels would fit on the front easily for rotation purposes. You should try to fit them first before buying the new tires. That's my suggestion.
But you could rotate by removing the tires from the rims and leaving the wider rear rims in the back. The issue that causes my concern is the difference in the offset between the front and rear rims.

You can't rotate them just by putting the same size tire on. The front wheels are 19x9, and the rear and 19x9.5.
A) they're not the same size wheel
B) the rears won't fit on the front without a spacer
Get a different set of 19x9.5 wheels all around if you want to do 275/40/19 all around.

Well, all I can say is go ahead and try it then. It's utterly stupid to put your wider wheels on the front. Buy a set of square wheels and do it right.

He has a good point. If you want more front tire buy the matching wheel. Otherwise it's like trying to run a wider rear on a Civic. What's the point?
