Post Borla ATAK vs S-Type

For all of you who have these 2 axlebacks. Which one do you like the sound of?

I had the Stypes for my 14 and loved them.

The ATAKS seem to be louder but at WOT sound a little raspy on youtube? Is that just poor sound from the camera speakers?

I want to buy one of them, but don't know which ones to put my hands on. I will only choose one of those 2; No other brand

Let me know what you got and how it sounds!

I know this doesn't answer your question, but here's some info that might help you. I bought the Borla Touring Catback from American Muscle. Look up that system (MPN 140589) on their website. There's a video narrated by a good-looking chick. She talks about sound intensity (3 on a scale of 1 to 5) and tone. The actual sound in real life is much greater than what you would expect to hear after listening to demos on your smartphone or PC speakers. The resonator in my system is about half the size of the stock one. The Borla Ford Racing axle back mufflers (~$800) with the stock resonator might end up sounding a little milder than my Touring Catback. The gal says their sound level is 2 on a scale of 1 to 5. The ATAK will be louder and raspy if that's what you're looking for. I like the mellow, muscle car sound of my system. But if I do a hard acceleration it definitely draws a lot of attention - so I don't do that often. LOL.

Thanks man!

Yeah i had the S-Types on my 14. They had the deepest sound with no rasp whatsoever. It even helped my catless X pipe calm down a bit. It was literally that great of an exhaust.

I ordered the ATAK last night because i wanted to go all out and see what the loudest exhaust of borla had to offer. The ATAK will be mellow since its an axleback and therefore resonators will be there. Let's see how life goes when i put em' on

I don't know about the ATAK or S-Type but after a coupla thousand miles my Touring Catback has "broken-in" and sounds a lot more aggressive on acceleration. At idle it sounds virtually stock (but deeper and throatier.) With the free-flowing exhaust, K&N intake, and stronger upshifts, I'm confident that my motor is probably pushing 450hp? It's a perfect 2+2 daily driver.

I'm looking to install either the Ataks or Stingers as well. I currently have a cat-less h pipe and so although I'd prefer the Ataks, I'm worried there gonna be too loud paired with my h pipe. I hear the Stingers do a great job with taming any sort of cat-less setup. But then eventually down the road I'm also thinking about putting my stock cats back on and then I would want the Borla Ataks because the Stingers would be too quiet with cats on. So I'm at a dilemma. Do I get the pipe that might sound better now but then hurt me in the long run when I put the cats back on or do I get the Ataks and hope they work both ways?
