Mustang 2016 performance package idles at 2000-2100rpm

Hello everyone, i hope i‘ve chosen the right topic for my question on which i would like to discuss with you…

I‘ve bought myself a mustang 2016 performance package with now 52 195 miles on the clock (84 000km) and the mustang is making something very strange, which does not throw any mistakes for already 4 months and does not really makes problem while driving. Hier the case:

When starting it idles at 1200 at then gets back to roughly 700, which is ok. Then, if i drive it normally without accelerating it is ok as well. But if i accelarete once or twice a little bit harder, it starts idling at 2000-2100rpm. After stoping the engine and starting in again, it is all okay again. It has a 6-speed automatic transmission and no tunning on the car!

i would be really thankful if you tell me your opinion on this problem. I was not able to find comparable problem on the internet.

Thank you!

Welcome From Bulgaria!

I would Try a Good Throttle Body Cleaning! Surely Would Not Hurt! Using a Spray For Throttle Bodies Only!

https://www.caranddriver.com/car-acc...body-cleaning/

,

After a Good Cleaning a Battery Disconnect for Twenty Minutes to Reset the Computer And Drive Normally as Car Relearns Strategy. Actually Battery Should Be Disconnected Already Anyway!

Putting in a Bottle Of Fuel Injector Cleaner Would Not Hurt Either.

I Don't Know if Available in Your Country But This is The Ford Recommended Brand

Amazon Amazon

Next Check For Codes with a Reader! This is the Best $25.00 I Ever Spent! Actually Check For Codes Before Disconnecting Battery If you are Going To Check them!

Hello and welcome aboard! Perhaps you also wouldn't mind posting some pics of your 2016 with performance package, as I'm sure we all would be very interested in seeing some images of your ride.

Hello
@05stangkc ,

thank you for your fast response and time!

Well, because of the fact that i know the previous owner of the car (for the last 3 years, he imported it from the USA), i asked him for the things that you suggested to me. He said that in June 2022 the throttle body was cleaned. Do you think still think that i should do this again and if yes, why? With regards to the the idea about the injectors, i will do this today cause it does not take a lot of time and effort. And last but not least important, the car has 3yo battery and does not throw any RCs (return codes).

P.s: i will try later today to go to a beutiful spot, where i would be able to make a small photo session and then upload the photos here.

Thank you!!
All the best!

A Quick Look at the Throttle Body With The Intake Hose Removed Should Show If It Needs a Good Clean after Time Elapsed! Look For Black Sludge Build Up! I Would Do the Battery Disconnect and Let The Computer Get a Reset and at the Same Time If The Battery Cables are Needing a Cleaning it Would Be a Good Time To Do That. Then See if Issue Returns.

Thanks For The Local Setting Photo that are Coming, Will Be Interesting For Us Stateside. If any Members Have Experienced Your Symptoms in Their Car Hopefully Someone Will Chime In!

I Did Some Digging And You Might Want to Check This Out!

Hi @05stangkc ,

once again, thank you!

I will definitely have a look in the throttle body and at the battery as well. I will give feedback then.

If anybody has any different ideas or opinions, please, share!
