Hello everybody
i have 2017 manual v6 mustang.
Yet top speed is 220 km/h. In gears 5 and 6 rpm never passes 5000. Why?

the top speed is electronically limited, probably something like 140 MPH, I am not sure of the exact number for your car . . . it's probably in the owner's manual

Regarding 5,000 RPM -- it sounds like you are hitting the Rev limiter, but that does seem a bit low, I thought it was more like 7,000 RPM for the V6 engine . . . do you have some kind of safety feature installed for that?

this car is salvage from usa and been imported to iraq. So i dont have much info about that.
Rpm at initial gears goes even to 8000 loool
so there should not be limiter.

 

it seems like it is hitting the electronic speed limiter then; but I cannot explain why it seems to be limited at the same RPM in both 5th and 6th gears; it should hit the maximum speed at lower RPM in 6th versus 5th
