2016 Black Vert
Not a lot of activity here on the Forums so I'll start something.
My new car arrived 01/13. I'm enjoying it immensely. Lots of things I can do with it as far as Mods are concerned. Today I visited a local Hydro dip shop to get a price on dressing up the engine compartment. They were very reasonable and I think I'll drop parts off next week.

Since I took delivery I bought a number of items to add to my mod list, GT350 steering wheel, Colgan Bra and mirror covers, Coyote 1" spacers, Velossa Ram Air kit. Hopefully this stuff will get installed as the weather warms up. No real rush.

Nice Mustang...congrats. You'll get a lot of use where you are. As a Mustang rag top owner here in the snowy and cold northeast, I'm envious.
Looks like you got the red interior....how 'bout some pics with the top down and doors open?

Thanks, I'm loving it. I spent most of the day driving around town yesterday looking at various shops that I might do some Mod business with this year. It was great. The 401A (Shaker Sound System) is just fine for my old ears and I turned it up.
I am a little puzzled though. I read on a different forum how many PP guys think the base GT suspension is "Floaty". What's up with that? I traded a 2011 Accord V6 and it handled great with All Season Michelins, it was stuck to the road in dry or wet. This new Mustang is way stiffer and handles even better. But even with the stiffness it's not harsh, and in no way could I describe it as Floaty. Are they just blowing smoke?

Got the Shelby on
Did the steering wheel swap this week. It was easier than I thought but I did have to be careful with the plastic covers. both removing and replacing. The Paddles were easy because they are installed in the shroud. I just swapped between the stock and the Shelby wheel.

Hydro Dipping
I found a new shop in town to do Hydro. I dropped off my engine covers, Fuse box top and Radiator cover. I thought I would do the lettering and let them color everything else, But I did;t get the right paint so I just settled for doing the masking of the lettering and taking the coil covers back to them for completion.
They are price competitive and will work with you on your project. I was surprised at how reasonable their pricing is. Epic Impressions in Saint Petersburg, not far from Biff Burgers.
I will get all the items back and install next week better pics will follow.

Weather has warmed up...
so it's time to tackle the things that have accumulated since taking delivery. First I need to put the Curt trailer hitch on. That is a big job, mostly because the hitch is heavy and has eight bolts but also because you first have to remove the extra bracing that comes on a convertible. Then you have to drop the exhaust enough to get clearance. I got the car up and the bracing off tonight. While it's up on the stands I have three more items to do. Install the Coyote 1" wheel spacers, install the Goodridge Stainless steel brake lines, and paint the calipers with G2 then apply the decals and clear coat. I don't have any help so this might take a few days.

Spacers are easy but Hitches!!!!
I got the Curt hitch installed, by myself in the driveway. It was a real pain in the butt. The first issue is I have a Vert and it comes with extra chassis braces. They have to come off before you can lower the exhaust. So to install the hitch there are two other jobs to get done first and then after the hitch.

Today should be an easy day
I planned to install the Goodridge stainless brake lines today, but I got a late start. The brake lines went on easy enough but I tried to use a MityVac hand vacuum to bleed them. After several hours I still didn't think I had done a good job. I wasn't going to risk my car so I fell back to the one man jar and hose method. Surprisingly there was no air left in the lines, the MityVac did work it just doesn't look like it works.
Anyway the brakes are done but I have no energy left to paint the calipers. I'm leaving that for a later day, I want to drive.

Curt Trailer hitch
While I know some would say it ruins the look of the car I added the hitch. Not planning to tow anything but I like to take my bike with me when I go visit the Grandkids for weeks at a time. So its on there.

which part of town will you be staying. it is tough to give you recommendation as houston is so spread out. we do not have large coffee and cars event now as it was shut down due to people showing off and hitting trees and injuring people. but let me know the town and dates you will be here and i will send you the location and timing details for the events near you.

I'll be in the north. Spring TX near 1960 and Stuebner Airline Rd. I always see some nice Cars in that area so there should be some gatherings... I can check with the local Mustang club too.
