Black dust or Brake dust.

Hi all,
I picked up my Oxford White, 2014 GT premium last night. I drove it around this morning and notice soft black dust on the side of the front bumper (mostly) behind the tires/wheel. Is this brake dust? Should I get mud guards or is this some defect? How can I prevent this in the future without having to wipe it down every time I drive it?
Thanks!

I don't see any answers. I think we just see it more on the white. My thinking is that the actual brake dust on the mustang flows out from the back of the rims and not the front. I get little dust on my rim centers. I have a Mercedes and it all releases on through the rims. Through the rims is much worse in my eyes.
