Waxing wheels
#2
I do. Only when I change for the season however. I wash before bringing them in the house in my office. They live inside for the winter and the factory wheels with all seasons go on. Then I simply coat them with an old polish that is very hard if not impossible to get anymore. Just lucky to still have some. They get at least two coats over the winter. They are nothing special wheel wise but they really pop when waxed. Brake dust is effortless to remove wet or dry.

I rarely wax mine, but I clean the wheels (and tires) at least once a week. I've tried all sorts of products but find that straight ammonia or even Stoner's Invisible Glass requires the least effort with the best results. Once in a while I'll spray on Mequiars Quick Wax.

You should wax the wheels regularly since they are painted also in most cases. They also see more dirt and debris than the rest of the car. Using ammonia or glass cleaner will strip any protection from the wheels and leave bare paint exposed to the elements. Over time, you will start to see hazing on the wheels as the clear coat starts to break down. I would recommend waxing the wheels as often as you wax the car, if not more.

Most of the time I will use hydro2 on my wheels. Works great and its a lot fast than waxing them. Wash, rinse, spray with hydro2, rinse, dry em and you done for a month or two.

Yup, twice a year when I wax my car. Once when I put it away for the winter... And a month or so after I break it out in the Spring. Hoping it will helps to prevent chips on my painted wheels.
It does make it easy to wipe off the brake dust.

I just dipped mine lol the lazy way
But before i would do one coat of sealant (klasse HG) with one coat of wax (collinite 915) every 3-4 months. These are two of the most durable productsbout there IMO and my wheels would always look great. Nothing could stick to em

I have the factory 20x9 (2015 GT) wheels which cost over $400 each to replace them. I use Chemical Guys Blacklight on the wheels every other wax. For the car I clay bar once a year, (all Chemical Guys products) sealant after clay bar, wax when needed (4 or 5 times here in Florida), and after waxing I use V7 Quick Detailer. AN IMPORTANT HINT...put a regular plastic bag (like from the grocery store) on your hand and gently move it over the car and it will let you feel all the grit and uneven surface which tells you when to clay bar, etc.

I don't wax mine. I just clean them. They are exposed to rock chips and such so I forgo the effort. I have another set waiting in boxes for future use.

Yes, I wax mine. I use the red speed ***** with my drill to supply and remove wax by hand. I typically use whatever wax I am putting on my car at the time. Usually something from auto geek or Chemical Guys.

I may be one of the few folks left who likes chrome wheels. I have FRPP chrome 18" Bullitt wheels on mine. I do not wax them, but I use chrome polish on them every couple of months.
