Tires for DD on Factory 18"

So, it is time for my 2013 to get two new tires. It seems that my left rear and my right front are pretty worn. The car has 20k miles on the factory Pirellis. I've had the car for 1 year this month and i got it with just under 7k miles. I daily this car with a current commute of 60 miles round trip.

I'm going to keep the factory 18" wheels. Is there any benefit to going to a wider wheel? I was thinking of possibly going to a 245 or a 255 tire, but I don't know if there really is any reason to. Also, should I look into a different tire than the Pirelli? Not sure if there is something out there that is better for me. No track time for this car and it gets driven year round. I'm currently in Florida, so that means rain is a common occurrence. I'd like to not slide off the road in the rain.

Has over 31,000 miles on them with 4/32's of tread on them when I sold the car with even wear across all 4 tires with regular rotation.

Those don't look too different from the ones that are on my car now. Was the move to a 45 sidewall necessary? I'm on the stock ride, so I think i'd probably be okay with the bigger sidewall, not that I really need it.

I went with the 45 to keep the speedo closer, stock 235/50/18's are 27.3", the 255/45/18's are 27" and the 255/50/18's are 28". I would rather have the shorter tire making the speedo fast rather than slow.

I have the 235/50/18 on my 2010, I live in DC and really appreciate the extra sidewall.

I went from the stock 235/50/18's to 255/45/18's recently. They look much better IMO. The 235's are too narrow. Ideally I would have went with a 285/40/18 in the back, but the Bullitt rims are only 8.5" wide.

So, looks like i can do the 255 without any issues. Now i'm trying to decide if i'm going to stick with the Pirelli All Seasons, or go with something else. In about 60 days i'll be moving to Atlanta, so I need to make sure I get something that can handle colder weather. Any recommendations?

Got the new tires today. I went with Yokohama YK580 all season tires from Discount Tire. I did go with the 255/45/18 on the stock wheel. You can definitely tell the difference of the extra width on the tires. I really like the look.

Only thing i was not happy about was that they said that one of wheel studs stripped when the took off the nut. They put a new stud on there, but it looks shorter and it looks like it is a different wheel nut from my original one. I'll probably just pick up a new stud and get new lug nuts with the $60 visa rebate that i get from the purchase of the tires. No big deal.

Nice tires! On my former 2012 V6, I put 25,000 miles on my YK580 tires and liked them a lot. The hot Mojave desert environment drained the life out of them and they became hard riding and began losing their grip when pushed hard even though they had plenty of tread left. This is a common environmental problem regardless of the different tire brands I've had so far. I currently have the Cooper RS3-A, maybe they will survive the desert heat?
