I got a Mustang GT 2014 base model no brembo brakes.. just got some aftermarket rims for it, str607 cv3s 20in 9 front and 10.5 rear 30 offset front and 35 back. can I do 295/35/20 tires? or 285/35/20 is that the wides and bigger I can go? I want to do the 35 ratio so i can fill the gap cuz i dont want to lower the car and i think the 30 ratio is two small? Or is it best to go with 295/30/20 front and 255/35/20 front? Why do people always go with a lower ratio on the back and higher in front? I really need help with this.. thanks

 

You can actually fit a 315/35/20 on the back... The fronts go with 255/35/20 no matter what, as far as people going with the 30 on the back it's all to do with how low it going to be lowered and personal profile look...as well as what's offered from certain tire company's.
I am running 285/30/20 on the back and 255/35/20 on front...I settled with the 30's on back cause the tire guy ordered the wrong set but they won't last long.... Lol
Next set will be 35's all the way around cause they'll fill up the rear good.

You can check it out to be certain, but if you want your tires to be the same in height and run a 285/35/20 in the rear... You need a 255/40/20 up front for them to be the same.

those rears won't fit, they will rub.

the size of the tire is the width in milimeters (in this case 255) by the percentage of sidewall to width (35%) by the wheel diameter (20"

that would make about a 27" tire

a 295/30R20 would also still make a 27" tall tire

27" is the low end of the range for stock tire height. i had those exact sizes on my car a year ago and due to the **** roads of DC, bent up some wheels pretty bad on a terrible pothole.

that being said if you aim for a 28" tire height, it'll still in the range of what the car takes and will keep your wheels safe with more sidewall.

if I had to do it AGAIN I'd run a 275/30R20 up front and a 295/35R20 out back.

on your car though? wheel offset is way off for what it should be. if the car is lowered at all the rear wheels will rub badly and destroy your quarter panels since they'd be sitting outside of them.

Rear - 295/30/zr20 on a 20x11 offset 55
No rubbing concerns at all with a 1.6 all around drop
