Suspension bits on the way!

Finally pulled the trigger on a set of FRPP strut mounts, FRPP adjustable struts, and the jounce bumpers (didn't put them in when I did my springs). Debating on ordering the Steeda front adj. sway bar as well.

I thought you were debating the 13?

It all carries over. I'm going to reassemble the stock springs and struts so I can swap them easily if I decide to trade it in.

I was told the mounts were specific or was it the 2010 that got left behind?

05-10 mounts work with the FRPP stuff. 11+ has a different mount, but the 05-10 stuff works if you convert it all over. You have these on your GT500, right?

Got it. Good to know my handling pack can come over if I go that way.

Did someone motivate you to purchase suspension items, Mr. Uppity?

The 05-10 GTs have the same mount as the 07-12 GT500s.

The '11+ GT has a different mount.

So these "upgraded" GT500 mounts I got for my 12 are basically the same mounts found on an 08 GT. Sounds like Ford is in reverse instead of drive.

No - they are interchangeable though. The GT500s are firmer.

Parts came in today. Looks like a really nice set, can't wait to install. I'm going to have to go to my parent's place and use some tools. I don't have everything here at my condo to do the job.

For those of you running the M-18000-C shocks/struts, which sway bars did you go with? I'm considering the M-5490-A setup that's matched to the FR3 suspension, but I've also been looking at Steeda's adjustable bars as well. The price difference is negligible, just unsure which is going to be best for this particular set up.

Not really, just your usual assortment of ratchets and wrenches. I dont have a spring compressor or air tools, so some of the stubborn bolts could be tricky.

The FRPP jounce bumpers came with torx head bolts. The worse bit in creation. If the screw doesnt strip, the screwdriver does lol. Hopefully the stock bolts are regular heads and I'll reuse them.

Really, because I think it's great and why are you using a screwdriver?

I'm pretty sure they're Torx as well. I just hope they come out of the axle without much of a fight.

Joe, did you put the sway bars on your car? If you did, how are they?

Yes, better than stock. I have the front bar set to firmest (haven't tried med or soft) Rear was a PITA to get the knocking out. If you have access to a lift, it will be much easier because it's best to torque down the rear bar while the car is under its own weight. Otherwise it's a guessing game and it took me hours and multiple loosening, adjusting and tightening to get out the knocks, but I eventually got it.

I read the instructions online and it mentioned dropping the car down and tightening up the bushing mounts to eliminate bushing pre-load. Obviously that's easier said than done. Does the car feel neutral in turn-in? Not too much under or oversteer?

Yeah, I've never felt it one way or the other, so I would say its pretty neutral. It's very nice, like butter.
