Any idea how much "room" is allowed for the speedo to remain the same. Im not sure im explaining that correctly.

I guess im trying to ask about the difference in overall diam.

For example
According to tire rack here are the specs for the stock brembo tires

Size: 104.4 KB
27.2 overall diam

Here is a pirelli 275 width

Size: 104.2 KB
27.6 overall diam

Different tire makes have different overall diam's as well. Im just wondering how close does the overall diam need to be to NOT affect the speedo or does that affect the speedo?

It does effect the Speedo, if your +/- .5 it will be hard to notice. I hope your not thinking to buy another set of those Perelli's...WAY over priced and honestly not that good.

Being off any little bit will affect the speedometer. Here is the tire size calculator that I use, it's great to help getting the same height tire as stock to keep the speedo accurate (for guys with OCD like me, I try to keep stock height). http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

It typically reads off the transmission (unless Ford did something crazy like mid 80's GM F-body and read off of the speedometer with an optical sensor), a staggered fitment is no big deal. I've run 255/45R18 x 305/45R18 with no ill effect on the ABS or stability control.

On my old Ford tuner and my current SCT tuner it only asks for the final drive and rear tire size via revs per mile.

These in 18x10 squared with 285/40/18 (Eagle F1 Supercar) custom offsets front and rear so I can get the most lip without rubbing. in Hyper black or Argent silver to match the stripes on my car. I would have to rotate the tires on the wheels but if it gets the most meat under there and won't rub then it's not a big deal to me.

Hyper black CCW SP500 wheel

CCW LM5 in satin Pewter

If I got these they would be 18x9.5 with 2" lip front 275/35/18 and 18x11 with a 3.5" lip rear 295/35/18 (Conti Extreme DW) in Hyper Silver painted with polished lips and blue bolts.

Here is the hyper silver color that they have.

Thanks. I just don't know if they will clear the Brembos being that the inside diameter is more narrow because of the stepped lip design of the wheels. I think you can get them without the step lip which doesn't quite looks as sexy but would fit.

Nice thing about CCW, they do custom everything. Just call em up and tell what you want. Chances are they are get you squared away no problem.

Did I mention that service like that comes at a price? That's why I went with Enkei.

As long as the wheels you get clear the calipers you should have no issues.

Depends on what wheel size parameters the specific tire you are trying to mount is designed for. If it's within spec then there shouldn't be an issue. I and looking at some wider rubber for the next time I replace tires as well. I really want more out of the tires. Michelin Pilot Sport AS+ have the 500 AA A rating which is kind of the best of both worlds but cost a lot more. I think there is a guy running a 285/35 PZero tire on his rears in here somewhere. Although I may end up getting some Kumho 4S because they are 420 AA A and I can get them in 275/40/19 for a little more than $200 per tire.

Is your car a daily driver? The Pilot Sport A/S is a good tire but being an all-season tire they give up a good amount of grip over a summer tire. If you can tolerate a summer tire Michelin has a 255/40R19 x 295/35R19 with both tires measuring 27.1" in diameter in the Pilot Super Sport or if the front is to narrow for your tastes a 285/35R19 with a slight hit to OD at 26.9" can be had in the same line as well.

Unfortunately in the Pilot Super Sport line to get a wider tire with about the right diameter would require going to a 20" wheel but the option is there to go as wide as 285/35R20 x 305/30R20 or 295/30R20 x 305/30R20 with the former having a slight hit in OD on the front at 26.8"

I'm going to have to get a summer set and winter set as I live in Europe and Blizzak's are going to be the standard for me when the weather gets cold again.
