(tire & wheel questions)

I currently have the stock GT/CS wheels/tires and am looking to pull the trigger on a wheel upgrade. I have a few questions since I don't know a lot about wheel/tire tech.

I'm at 245/45/19 with Ford K Springs. It's about a 1.25" - 1.5" drop.

I'm looking to do either:

SVE Drifts at 275/35/19
-or-
Downforce at staggered 275/35/20 front & 295/35/20 rear

I am wondering if I go with the 19" Drifts will my car sit even lower?
Should I go with the 20" wheels to maintain my current height?

If I go with 20's, how is the ride quality compared to 19's? I am going with a 35 instead of a 45 so I know I will feel a lot more of the road, but will that be even more pronounced with 20" wheels?

You need to look at overall tire height to know if the car will sit lower/higher, and that will also impact speedometer/odometer readout/count.

Thanks Gabe. Good calculator, but a little confused by the glaring warnings of putting anything other than the stock wheels on a mustang GT. There are hundreds of people on here who have gone from a stock 19" wheel to 20's or keeping the 19s and going wider with a lowered suspension. I'd be interested to see what someone who has already done this and purchased similar wheels/tires thinks about it. I tried searching on the forums, but not finding the answers I'm looking for.

My car came with 27" tall tires, sized 255/40/19, on 19x9" wheels

I'm currently using 275/40/19 front tires, about 27.6" tall, on 19x10 wheels.
On the rear I have 20x10 wheels with 305/35/20 wheels.

The car is sitting on Steeda Sport springs, about a 1.25-1.5" drop.

Love the stance.
May do 20x10 fronts at some point with 275/35/20 tires, but for now I love the look:

Thanks guys, and yes, charcoal AMR wheels.

The plate is a necessary evil. I don't want tickets for not having it, and the cops around here are known for really paying attention to missing front plates. Been told the ticket would be about $175

Thanks Gabe! Looks great. For the plate, have you considered a Craig's Custom Mustang bracket? It mounts centered on the lower grille and is a no drill bracket. The part that makes contact with your paint has soft rubber cushions. I have it and it's great. Great looking ride, Gabe. I want charcoal wheels staggered, but unfortunately they don't offer a 9-9.5" Front in the AMR. I really want 275's on the front and have been reading that 275 is too wide for an 8.5" wheel. Looks like I'll be going with RTR charcoals.

Gabe, what did you do for center caps?

My center caps are the all-black ones that American Muscle sells, I think their regular price on them is $6.99 a piece.

I have 19x10 wheels and 275 tires on the front of my car now and they look and fit great!
I added 1/4" spacers just to have a bit more room between the strut and the side of the rim/tire, but they fit even without the spacers.

Thanks Gabe. I ended up getting the AMR charcoal 19" staggered package with the all seasons. I drive my car all year long in the rain, sleet, snow so I was worried about getting a thinner tire (potholes) and going too wide in the back. Stuck to 245 in front and 275 in back. Just need some center caps. American Muscle is sold out of the ones you have right now. I also like the tri bar pony ones but they're way overpriced for a piece of plastic.

Great looking car. When I got mine, my choices were narrowed to DIB and Sterling Gray. I also like Ruby Red a lot.

Last1, can you post pics of your car? The P springs are the milder drop right? Any chance you can measure ground to fender front and rear?

Any trouble with clearance on your front splitter?

Hey, I only have 1 pic on my phone, but will post more later. I came from the k springs, which were supposed to be a 1.5" drop from stock. However, after the springs settled it looked a lot lower. My clearance was pretty terrible and I did not like the look anymore. It never really grew on me. The P springs are around 1", but in my opinion are the perfect amount. I still wanted the rake look on the car and these springs maintain that and eliminate the silly stock wheel gap. Also, no real clearance issuses in the front except for tall curbs in parking. That was even an issue with stock height though. I will post more pics and measure when I get home.
