I Think He Wants to see How The Rims Look on The Car in His Size & Offset Which You Have and What Tire Size You Ran! Also How Did Lug Situation Play Out!

Here is His Original Post!

Thanks!

Your proposed strategy was perfect in my case. I'll take some pictures of the wheels mounted so that he can see the offset. My car is 2013 GT CS, if that makes a difference.

@MerlinGS

Still S-197 Platform So a Valid Comparison. Some Variation in Body Wheel Openings To Consider But Overall Fit Should Be Close!

The More Pics The Better!

Besides After All This Time I'm Curious At Your Results!

Please Post in This Thread Vs The 2004 Model Thread!

Thanks!

from the pics I have seen S550 wheels on S197 car will "poke" a little or sit barely inside the fender, depending on the width of the wheel and tires (wider pokes more)

this is because the offset specs are slightly different; S550 needs a little less offset on the wheels; more offset tucks the wheels under the car, less offset moves them outward

As discussed, here are some photos. I'll also post the photos in the "Aftermarket tire help" thread

My only concern is the locknut is not extended like the lugnuts (i.e. it is a solid shape, not extended), so I did not use it. Maybe I will in the future (since 4 ET lugnuts should hold the wheel well).

@MerlinGS

Thanks! Looks Great.

Really a Great Look! I Need To Get On With My Swap!

Looks Like The 19x8.5 is Fit Perfect! I Can See Where Wider S-550 Wheels Would Stick Out!

How About Tire Size? Same All Around or Staggered Fit and What Exactly Did You Get And are You Happy With The Handling, Ride Etc?? No Rub At Full Lock Etc?? Any Observations Would Be Useful To Future Readers!

NP; however, I did not completely answer your question. I have no issues with the ride or handling (the original rims were also 19", they just happened to be for the S 197, as opposed to the S550. I can see how a different offset could lead to issues with potential rubbing, but the offset difference, in this case, is small and I have not had any issues with rubbing, although I can't recall ever testing to "full lock".
