Are most struts from 05-14 the same?

The reason I'm asking is that I bought a set of slightly used struts off of Ebay from Shelbyauctions that were listed as 2014 Mustang GT struts.

The struts that I received also came with the springs and strut mounts. I noticed that the springs had one less coil than my factory 14 GT springs so I did a search of the Ford #'s on the struts and springs and they seem to come back as coming off of a 2007-2009 GT500.

I emailed Shelbyauctions back and they told me that all struts from 05-2014 with the exception of the 13-14 track pack cars are the same. I find this hard to believe so does anyone know for sure if this is true? Here are the numbers off of struts and springs if anyone has a good source to look these up.

7R3V-18045-GA-struts

Thanks, Wayne

11-14 are different up top. They'll need GT500 mounts to work.

I think 07-14 GT500's are the same.

Use the mounts they came with and you should be good to go!

Thanks for the replies. I guess as long as the actual strut is the same, I'm good to go. I won't use the spring that is on the assembly because I don't want my car any lower than it is. Thanks.

Just because it has one less coil, doesn't mean it will sit lower. In fact, it is likely just the opposite in this case. A gt500 front spring rate is greater than a GT front spring rate. It might actually raise the front of the car. I'd try it as is before disassembly of the strut and decide from there.
