How accurate are Track Apps?

Has anyone used them at a track and compared them to time slips? How close are they?

Obviously when I use mine I'm always at a track, however the timing computers may not be running, so I'm just curious how good Ford did as far as accuracy.

Somewhere in this forum they did a comparison. If I remember right, the times were almost exact, but that's using the automatic start and not the Christmas tree start.

They're probably more accurate than doing it by hand, since they most likely take inputs from the vehicle speed sensor, and record exactly when the desired speed or distance is achieved.

How do you compensate for tire spin?

Possibly using a G sensor. Vehicle speed would be present, but there may be a threshold that has to be broken by the G sensor to show movement.

You read the speed off of the front wheels
