GT500 Front Brakes

I am planning on upgrading my track pack brembos to gt500 brembos.

From the looks of it the calipers come empty.

A clip/pin set is needed dr3z-2b164a. Is there anything else that is required?

I also read that the front gt/boss brake line does not fit, is this true?

There are some threads around on how to piece together all the parts and pieces if you want to buy them separately; try some searches in other areas of this forum; if no luck try some of the "other" forums (such as AFM)

The simpler solution, and well worth the money in my opinion, is to get the complete kit:

What's making you want to make the swap to the 15" kit?
I know of several people that autocross and run road-course racing (up to 160+ mph) and run the standard 14" Brembo kit and they say you just need get good pads and rotors on there, the 4-piston calipers are plenty good.
If you're only doing it for looks, that's gonna be an expensive appearance mod.

oops, yeah I didn't catch that

What's the problem with the track pack brembos that you already have?

Like Gabe said, I don't know anyone who has found they actually need more brake, on a road course . . . some do add cooling ducts.

Remember wheel clearance could be a problem; I am not sure if the track pack wheels will clear the 15" rotors

Also may want to consider any increased weight...my guess is 5 - 10 lbs per side. This will be unsprung weight at each wheel.

I'd like the gt500 front brakes primarily for stopping power and looks. They will fit under factory 19" track wheels but I mainly use 20" Supersnakes wheels.

Ive read quite a few people are happy with the 4 pot brembos but also there is a large increase stopping with the 6's. Pads and rotors on the gt500 are not that much more expensive than the brembo 4, it's the calipers that are pricey at $320 each. However considering the size of them and brand, I think that's relatively cheap.

I have hawk hps pads all round, gt500 rear rotors. I have a set of stop tech brake lines not yet fitted.

I may stick with them until the rotors need replacing and then upgrade.

I would also agree with the other gentlemen, it will be an expensive mod for not much gains. For stopping power you just need better pads, and perhaps slotted rotors. 15" rotors aren't going to give you a noticeable increase at ambient temps. I'd save your money for something that would make a bigger difference, like tires.

I've sourced the 6 piston calipers and rotors. Will the braided steel lines for the brembo track pack calipers fit the 6 piston gt500 calipers?
