Post GT 2011 -1.5" lowered : is 285/40R19 rear tire size ok ?

Hi,

I'm waiting for a new set of wheels :
http://wheelreplicas.com/2005-2014-m...heel-replicas/

The front size is 9". The rear size is 10", offset 47mm.

My Mustang is lowered with -1.5" Ford springs.
With our french laws, i can put 275/40R19 or 285/40R19 tires.
The 285 is cheaper.

But will the 285 width be ok ?

Serge.

I'm running a 285/35/19 square on a 19X9.5 rim....I think it's plenty wide enough and fills the wheel well nicely.

I ran 285/35/19 for a while with a 1.25 inch rear drop - no issues. You should be good to go.

I am using a 305/35 Nitto on that same exact wheel in black. My car is lowered with BMR springs and has zero issues with rubbing or sticking out. You shouldn't have any problems running the 285's. Good luck. Post some pics when done.
