firestone firehawk indy 500 tire review

didnt want to spend the money for another set of Michelin pilot super sports, heard good things about these so went for a set, stock size 255 40 19, all i can say is i dont miss the michelins at all,in the wet they are as good if not better, in the dry the only difference i feel is that the pss were quicker to respond to steering wheel input, they are quiet and ride excellent,to new to know about the mileage, but i pretty much dont care about that as i never had a set or at least front tires that lasted more than 15k the way i drive, the rears about half that. The pss lasted 13k up front. Like all new tires i wasnt totally impressed untill they had a couple hundred miles on them and then i started to push harder and smile harder!Fantastic tire for 158 each from the Tire rack! check them out if you dont want to spend the big bucks on tires and think you wont be happy, much better than the sumitomo htr z 3,much better!

I have these tires on my 1990 convertible.
I think they are a very good street tire, at a great price point!

I have these on my 2011 GT, 255/40 & 285/35, so far so good. And I, too, came from MPSS. Pics here in my TMS thread about these Firestone tires: https://themustangsource.com/forums/...-500-a-541415/

285 is too wide for 9.0" wheel, I think 275 is the absolute widest you can go, safely.
