BMR suspension install
BMR suspension install
Finally got around to installing springs, koni struts, shocks, bump stops, gt500 upper strut mounts and a panhard bar. Took us almost 7 hours. We did it with hand tools, impact wrench and spring compressors. A fellow mustang club member did a lot of the heavy lifting and I pretty much did as directed. I am new to working on cars and could not have done it myself. Helps to have friends
Still have the following BMR parts to install: LCA, relocation brackets, Adjustable UCA and mount.
With that said here are a few pics. I'll post more once I clean her up.
Before the install:

After:

Very happy so far. The drop was as advertised from BMR. No more body roll. Brake nose dive is gone too. Cant wait to install the rest. Thanks to Kelly at BMR for taking the time to explain the specifics of lowering a S197. This forum was very helpful as well.

I like it. as with lowering any car its stiffer and you can def feel more of the road. I like the reduction of body roll, zero nosedive, cornering is easier. The springs dropped as advertised. All in all i think it was worth the $$ and Kelly from BMR was very helpful, I knew zero about lowering mustangs before coming on this site and speaking with the BMR rep.
Looks great! Just installed almost the same setup, although it took me only about 3 hours of work with the tools I have at home. The ride is great though - I'm impressed so far with the Koni's in combo with lower/stiffer springs!
Enjoy

I did the same exact thing less different springs, and took me 3 hours as well. I love it so far. To the OP, looks great!
I also installed BMR's and Koni struts/shocks. Took about 4 hours with two trips to the parts store and using hand tools.
I used Ford racing upgraded bump stops however they are still the same height as the factory bump stops. They do absorb the bumps but I think ride would be better if I cut them. There is about .25 inch between the bump stop and where it hits the car.

Man those BMR springs really lower the front of the car alot..... I was planning on going with those but now I am concerend that I will be bottoming out at the end of my driveway... Also, I want get rid of the "rake" and they appear to leave the car with one. If you could add back 1/2" of height to the front then take it off in the rear it would be the perfect stance IMO. Any issues with rubbing over bumps in the front of the car?? I know I will needto back out of the driveway at an angle and already do that, but with that front height now, it looks like I could still take off the front bumber at the end of my driveway....

. My alignment was off. Slight pull to the left. I'll find my after alignment adjustment sheet when I get home. Don't remember which direction the arrows were pointing. Sorry I can't give a complete answer
"Bryan, I would skip the Bolts and just flip the USM around 180 degrees. Rarely do you need to swing that camber back in much after lowering. You should be around -1.2 to -1.5 after lowering, and flipping the mounts around. That would put you right in "spec"."
Hopefully his advise helps others as well..
