I got around to tinting the yellow front side markers last night. Totally changed the whole look of the front end. You tend to look at the sinisterness of it now instead of the cute little yellow bars on the sides. I don't think that is even a word but whatever. Ha ha.

Beautiful car. DIB just shines in the sun. I had a hard time deciding between the DIB and GHIG but went with the green in the end. I have a feeling I would have been happy with either choice tho.

When I was buying my car they had a GHIG BOSS in the showroom. I wasn't sure about that color at first but once I saw the yellow and white metal flake in the paint it was either GHIG or DIB. I haven't ever had a blue car so I went this way. Great color though.

Took her out last night teaching the teenagers how to be nice to a woman. They were catching hell trying to learn how to drive. I kept telling them that it's a man rule to know how to drive a stick and a rare thing to be able to learn on such a great car. I learned on a 74' Trans Am with the 455 in it.

Took her on our first road trip weekend up to Concord, NC this past weekend. I was planning on going to ZMax dragway for some fun on friday but got rained out. Ended up going to the Panther's / Dolphin's game that night though. I got nods and waves from a couple of the rather sinister Mustangs the last couple of days too. A sick GT500 and a 08ish 427R last night next to me at a stoplight. I'm the only DIB GT in the area so everyone waves.

Steve,
Out of curiosity did you order or actually find her on a lot?
Just asking because I ordered exactly the same car minus SYNC and was curious what your turnaround time was if you custom ordered.

Wow you got lucky. It was almost impossible to find a non-premium on a lot around here, forget about a track pack+recaro.
BTW the vents and marker lights look good. Nice, subtle changes that make a big difference. Good luck with it!

I'm really lucky. What were the odds that there would be the EXACT car I wanted less than an hour away from me. When I originally went to see if they could get it for me they didn't know you could get the Recaros in the 13' GT. They told me I would have to get the BOSS or 500 to get them. Then I showed them the listing on my phone and they looked up the VIN and were embarrassed. I just took the two foam plugs out of the sound tube last night and it is rediculous loud in there at WOT now. I don't know if I will ever put them back in. I do need to get an exhaust to even the sound out though.

I just hit 3333 miles right before I went up to Charlotte. I have been averaging 18.9mpg now that she has some miles on her. And the exhaust sounds a lot deeper. Not deep enough but more noticeable.

So I got a hair up in there and decided that since my awesome wife had me working a sewing maching helping her with a wingback chair reupholster job I might as well do something for me as well. It took me about an hour and a couple of the stitches are a smidge crooked but I think it looks great. I used some black ultrasuede that I had from another project and this was the result. I'm going to do the door panel inserts with the same theme and the e-brake handle boot too.
This is after you remove the insert from the center console. It was a little bit of a pain because of the tabs being chrome plated plastic. I had to file them down a little to get them to pop out. Then the round seat is glued on the boot and then the little ring sits inside to hold it together.
I had to cut the boot off the base because it was melt stamped onto the boot since the boot is pleather. I used a razor knife and it was easy.
Next I took the boot apart by carefully cutting all the threads. Then I made the patterns with the new fabric making sure to add some extra so I had some smudge room if I needed it.
Difference in fabric vs pleather.
Next is after I had sewn the two pieces together and then sewn the flaps left over to themselves. Make sure you have the finished side up so the back stitch is on the inside.
After I was done I glued the boot to the base using a hot glue gun. I used a flat tip screwdriver to press the the boot in place securely as it was drying a little. Then I inserted the shift **** ring to the underside and then trimmed the extra that was there. Then I glued the boot to the ring and inserted the keeper ring.
After I installed the boot bracket back in the console.
Done.

Thanks Bill and airoscar. I guess you could say I'm "Detail" oriented. Ha ha. I want to try and get up to the Blue Ridge parkway and maybe hit up the Dragon before the weather gets too crappy up there.
