Finally had the time to clay bar, polish, and wax the Boss yesterday/today. Also had the clear bra put on last week.

There is a bad spot that the installer is coming back this week to repair, but other than that it's been great. It gives me piece of mind while driving. Especially around here where everything is under construction and oil and gas trucks are slinging junk everywhere. I went with the kit rather than the "custom" wrap, and I dont regret it. No one ever notices the bra unless I point it out, and then they say "wow I never would have noticed it." I still worry about the hood stripe though. I saw a SBY at Cars and Coffee with a big rock chip knocked out of the stripe.

The best thing I did was have the rockers wrapped. The rockers catch all kinds of dirtiness (obviously) and I was always worried about scratching the paint when I cleaned them between washings.

Which clear bra did you end up going with?

 

I went with the Suntek film. It has the self-healing coating like the Xpel has. I like the way it looks so far, but I admit it was a bit of a risky choice since it is a relatively new product. hopefully it will hold up well. No complaints so far.

The dealer actually had the car pre-tinted when I went to look at the car. I didn't like that as I like to use my own tint guy, but it looks like they did a good job. It's 25% on the sides and rear (darkest legal in Texas). You can go darker on the back window, but I wanted them to all be the same.
