Will 2013 Boss Models Continue in Numbered Sequence or Start Over?

Curious if Ford is planning to continue to number the Boss model cars starting where the 2012 run left off or will they start over with another car #1 for 2013?
If I remember correctly, they continued in sequence when they did the last Bullit Mustangs over 2 model years. I know the Boss is a different deal, but there is some precedence there.

Any insight would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Jason

I'm curious about this as well. I would guess they are going to start the numbering over since there is enough of a change in the body style. Yes Ford did continue the numbering when they built the 08/09 Bullitts. I used to own 2009 Bullitt 6294 before I traded it for the Boss.

Glad I am not alone with this question. Funny, I also owned a 2009 Bullitt myself. Mine was car #6406. Was one of my favorite Mustangs before I owned the Boss.

Thanks!

My bet is that the number will start over. The Bullitts were all supposed to be built for 2008, and were extended into 2009 when not enough were sold in '08.

It is entirely possible that numbering will continue, but that deprives 2013 owners the chance to get a low number car.

This. And they'll state 2013 instead of 2012.

It wold not make sense to continue the build numbers. As stated: different year and look. It also removes that WOW factor on a low build number. Not to all, but allot of us we hoped for a low build number.

i know your talking about 13 models but do we have any hard numbers on the total for 2012? would a number in the low 2k's (say like 2065) be considered a low number?

I too owned a Bullitt # 862 and traded for a Boss #349. I would think maybe they would continue from the 2012.

I hope they continue. The numbers on the engine intake and I think I should have the only engine number 0254.

Look at the number plates, they show the model year. That being the case, how could they possibly continue on with adding to the last # produced in 2012 for the 2013 Boss? To me it just doesn't make any sense...

The number plates on the Bullitts had the model year also, but they continued. It definitely seems to be up in the air at this point, but someone at Ford knows the definite answer.

The show car serial #'s I saw were very low, which suggests they are starting over, but its not a confirmation.

They won't and I'll bet a beer on it.

Are you referring to the VIN or the Boss number?

VINs won't continue but why not the engine numbers? It's the number of installed Boss power plants produced not the car that should be numbered.
