Why the Mustang logo on the back?

Why the Mustang logo on the back?
I wonder why they went with the V6 mustang's tri bar and mustang logo on the faux gas cap?
The LS gets it's own unique badging, I think the regular Boss should get a Boss 302 logo on the back.

Well I get that, but only to a point. If they want to keep playing the '69 theme throughout the styling then the LS should not have gotten the badging it did.
