Whose the Boss??
Whose the Boss??
Picked up my 2013 SBY Boss yesterday (car #57) and traded in my 2012 Boss. My car was built on 3/1 and sat for 6 weeks in the famous ramp 51 location. I assume since the car was shipped that the hold on the Bosses may be over. Ford's inventory tracking system is fairly poor, as Ford didn't even know the car had been released until after I had the car, so you can't really rely on the status they tell you.
Thought some of you may enjoy the side by side photos of the two cars. They definitely have different looks. The stripes are obviously a big part of the 2013 front. This is my 3rd Boss and as you would expect, is still the best Mustang I have ever owned (this is my 14th Mustang) in the last 15 years.
For those of you waiting for your 2013's, be sure to check your stripes very carefully. Despite the cars being held for 6 weeks, supposedly for a "stripe issue," I found one of the front fender stripes to be defective. It wasn't the bubbles that have been previously identified, but rather lines in the stripe, most likely from a poor installation. These cars are fairly dirty from sitting for weeks when they arrive, so I imagine it was hard for the quality control people to even see the defect. My dealership is ordering a new stripe for it.

this was one of the photo compares i was looking for! thanks for posting...now only if someone can take this pict and change the SBY to Grabber Blue for me that would settle my original request in the other forum post.... im now starting to try and buy a 2013 and keep the 2012! need to find money first.
jason - you mention this is your 3rd BOSS, what was your 1st? you are quite lucky to be able to swap out to MY '13. i'm on the fence in getting a '13 or waiting to see what SE is offered for '14 (rumored BOSS351 or MACH1). question regarding the faux foglight insert blanks, it's my understanding they are designed to completely come out, are they easily removable?
