Wait for ordered LS or find Competition Orange standard car?

I've been battling with this idea for a few weeks. When I started hunting for a Boss, I originally wanted a CO/Recaro car. I love the color and I think the LS is largely overkill, even as a track junkie.

The only car I was able to find at MSRP was my LS so I ended up jumping on it. However, like many of you, my car is still unscheduled despite being 2Q car and I have a sneaking suspicion that I won't see it until late summer. Track season is beginning and I have no car to drive and I'm absolutely going crazy waiting.

Should I start hunting for the car I originally wanted or just wait for the rarer, more sought after car?

I feel like I'm waiting simply because I know it was pure luck that I even found an LS allocation. I figure the resale will be higher and for how I will use it (weekends and HPDEs), it makes more sense but I really am in love with the Competition Orange and $4000 in cost difference buys a lot of track time.

i think the normal boss is 99% of the LS, do you think the Ls will turn that much better track times? that said, i woudl bet withohti paying a adm you wont find a normal boss before your Q2 LS at this point.

Also a good point, especially with the slow production right now.

There still a few standard Boss for Msrp around. I wouldn't switch. I would wait for the LS, but that's me.
If you do decide to switch let me know and I will definitely take an LS at Msrp!

Yeah, I think I'm going to end up waiting. I could see myself regretting it in 6 months. If I give it up, I'll give you first shot at my allocation.

Thanks
I know your just frustrated by the wait, like most of us. I'm tired of waiting for my standard Boss. Correction, I'm tired of my dealer not knowing anything. I would definitely jump ship for an LS!

Keep your place in line for the LS allocation. However if the perfect CO appears at your friendly neighborhood Ford dealership lot, GO FOR IT!!!

After waiting all these years for a car like the Boss LS, I would be willing to wait for a few months.

So I've found one locally that should arrive at the dealership any day now. I don't know if I can fight the urge any longer.

The more I think about it, the more I think the LS is a hard sell as $5000 doesn't get you much more performance but it does get me a longer wait only to shell out more money. The real benefit of the LS is the "wow" factor and rarity.

To me the 5000 is worth it the suspension, the splitter, the tranny cooling scoop, the brake cooling ducts, and of course the limited production. Definitely let me know if your giving up ur allocation. I would love an LS. I would be a great foster parent!

And I almost forgot the 1400 gauge cluster.

I'm currently waiting for a 2nd Q standard Boss. My dealer knows if I find an LS for Msrp, I'm taking it. If my Boss comes first, so be it.

The gauge cluster, cooling scoop, and brake ducts I do want. I think the suspension is overrated given that even at an advanced run group, you're probably not going to be able to lap one car faster than the other given similar tire compounds.

I'm still not 100% but I'll let you know if I pass on my LS allocation. You're welcome to it.

I'm buying a Q1 CO Boss and then possibly trading it on a Q4 LS. Unless we are allocated a 2013 LS AND it will be available in black/GO stripes in which case I will keep the CO 2012 until I can trade it on the 2013 LS.

Mine is a kona Q2 but I won't be trading it. Too much of a loss. I guess it's easier when you work for a dealership
Did you get a vin and date yet?
