Question Is a used Boss 302 rear swaybar worth putting on a GTCS?

I have a 2011 GTCS with Steeda pro-action shocks/struts with Roush 1" springs and saw that the Boss 302 and Boss 302 LS had the same front swaybar as the GT, Brembo and GT500 but a different rear sway bar (Boss 25mm and LS 26mm vs the base 24mm). Is it worth finding a used rear Boss or Boss LS sway bar or just go aftermarket? Daily Driver with occasional drag racing and track days. Do I need to change the front swaybar at all if the Boss and LS has the same?

Thanks for any guidance!

Hi Yagermeister,

May I suggest that you look at the H&R front adjustible sway bar that is available for your car. They are a German company that builds quality suspension parts that includes a new RSS coil over setup for Mustangs that you can add their sway bar.

Rob

P.S. I have an LS and I will soon be putting the H&R RSS package and sway bar as it is that much better.

Gonna be oversteer time on track if you're running same tire size front/rear

Thanks for the pics and info is noted @SoFlaBoss!

@06GT, are you saying I will have oversteer with stock GT swyabars or if I only change out the rear swaybar?

@roketman If you told me that two weeks ago we would have had a deal but I already installed the Roush 1" springs with Steeda Pro-Action shocks/struts. Now I am only looking for the rear swaybar...though I may have to change which one I get due to what @SoFlaBoss said earlier

What are the differences between an LS suspension and a regular Boss, also between 2012 and 2013 if any? Thanks.

I believe the LS is fully adjustable and comes with a 1mm larger rear swaybar over the standard Boss swaybar which is 1mm larger than the GT. Regular Boss suspension is 3 way adjustable and GT is not adjustable.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong!

If you go to the larger rear swaybar (LS or BOSS), you are going to increase the rear roll stiffness of the car, which will make a GT more loose (prone to oversteer) on track, due to the GT tire size setup. You can cure this by running a wider rear tire with the BOSS or LS swaybars. The BOSS runs a 255 front and 285 rear.

If you have the same tires (for the track) front and rear, I'd invest in a Strano adjustable rear swaybar instead (22mm).

None between 2012 and 2013.

"Base" BOSS and LS both feature 5-way adjustable dampers, although the LS damper calibration is unique. The LS Swaybar is 1mm larger in diameter than the "Base" BOSS as noted. The swaybars themselves are not adjustable.
