UPGRADE TO LS WHEELS AND TIRES??

What do you think??
I have a Performance White Boss #228
They now have the LS wheels with the black background
I think the white car would look great with those wheels wrapped in the PZero Corsa from the LS.
Will it make any difference in handling? Positive/Negative or Unchanged
And I already know $500 to $600 each for the tires with a 60 tread wear rating.

Handling on the track - improved
Handling on the street - not worth it, IMO.

Personally, I am not digging the LS wheels, and the weight of them certainly doesn't help

The stock Boss wheel to me has very little caricature being all black. Just that little bit of machined finish aluminum I think makes them pop.
My real concern is with the wider sticker tire on the rear and the higher front spring rate of the standard Boss over the LS will it cause the Standard boss to push or can I compensate by lowering the front shock setting.

I like the all business look of the stock wheels. I want a white set for track use.

To each his own but I would hate to try and keep them clean.

The Corsa rear tires are the same width just the LS wheel is a 1/2" wider. I don't think there's an issue running the Corsa tires but I would only do it for the track if your budget is so inclined. You'll be running sticker tires up front as well so it should balance out.

I think the stock black wheels look terrific on the black stripe cars. Not so much on the white stripe cars and I'm going to replace the high gloss black rear spoiler and wheels on my KB Boss as soon as it arrives. I have the SVT PP wheels and LS rear spoiler on order and will paint the rear spoiler white to match the stripes ala the LS cars. I'll use the stock wheels for the track and may have them powder coated in a gunmetal color but leave the machine finish lip. I've also thought about white or KB.

As for the wheels I was originally going to buy the 302S wheels but now that I've seen them on other Mustangs I think they look a bit plain. They do look better on the darker color cars. The red on the LS really pops and like it or not I think the red wheels look terrific on a LS Boss. Not sure if that is my PS of the 302S wheels but here's a few more I've done. Another member here did the color changes for me.

SVT PP with white spoiler.

Without white spoiler.

Blue and white wheels with white spoiler

I have a thread on BMO with a bunch of different wheels PS's on a KB Boss.

one other set of wheels to consider (haven't found pic of yet) are the "wishbone" style 19"x9"s that are offered w/the brembo brake package.

size n weight not much off from the street 2012 BOSS302 or the reg 2011 GT500 (all 19"s). fills the wheel well rather nicely.
i understand 2013 street BOSS302's will have the same blk wheels.

There you go, and 10lbs lighter per wheel.

Also a set of Forgestars, you can get them in 19X10 and 19X11 and they still would be lighter than the LS wheel by a few pounds.

Dave are those F14`s on the Shelby?
What size are they?
What is the offset?
That looks bad to the bone!!
They look to set pretty flush to the quarter panel.

Those are F14's. I went to their factory in SoCal last month. Those wheels look fantastic in person and I was seriously considering ordering a set. And although they are lighter than the SVT PP wheels I went with the OEM quality of the Ford Racing wheels. Both wheels are basically the same price. They come in lots of different sizes and I was looking at 19x9 and 19x10's.

This is the place to order the F14's from. BTW the CF5's look really hot too.

As 5 dot 0 says, they are the F14's. I am getting them for my M3 in 19X10 ET25's front and 19X11 ET 25s rear with a 275/30/19 front and 305/30/19 rear. They can be had in 19X9.5 and 19X11 for the Mustang and they still would be lighter than the OEM wheels. They are a very strong wheel, I know people who track with them in their 997s so they are plenty strong.

Check out www.modbargains.com they have a set for around $1600, most other places are near the $1800 range. Its mainly a BMW vendor but they can get you any offset and size that forgestar makes.
