Tried out the Recaros for the first time
Went to the Mid-America Shelby car show in Tulsa yesterday. Ford had a Red/Black and a Yellow Blaze Boss 302 on display, as well as a Black/Red LS. I sat in the Red/Black Boss 302, and man, did it feel good! I was a little worried about the Recaros potentially being a little to snug-fitting for me, but I am now officially sold on them (I had originally ordered my Yellow Blaze without the R/T option, then went back a couple of weeks later and modified my order to include add R/T option). I stayed in the car for 10 minutes, lol! The whole experience is making the wait for mine a lot harder!

Does anyone know if you can have your no optioned BOSS retrofit with the R/T package? I bought my car off the showroom floor, so I took what was available. But I would very much like to have the options installed, if it's possible. Could the dealer order the parts?

Anything is possible. How much money do you have? Ford Racing offers the Torsen and seats although I'm not sure if they are available yet. The seats have Ford Racing and not Boss 302 on them.

yellowman, how large of a human being are you? I generally have width issues (back and chest not belly) with racing style seats and would be curious as to your dimensions.

I'm 5'11", 240 lbs., so you can see why I was worried, lol. I'm pretty wide-chested (size 54-56 jacket) as well, though it was more my love handles I was concerned with. I don't know how comfortable the seats would be on a long drive, but the one I sat in didn't pinch or feel uncomfortable at all after 10 minutes or so of sitting in it. It more "enveloped" me than anything else.

I believe that FRPP now offers the Torsen differential although I don't know the price. Saw it on their Ford Motorsports website. Can't comment on the Recaros though. I'm sure they'll be available at some point.

I am 6'3" tall and 270. Wear a size 50 tall jacket. I have been in my Recaros for 4+ hours when I drove to Carlisle and still felt comfortable and could have spent another 4 hours in them.

Yellowman, I'm 6'2", 240 and find the Recaro seats very comfortable. The first few hundred miles were "snug" and there were a few trips where I wasn't quite sure how this was going to turn out....but now at 1800 miles, either the side bolsters have softened a bit or I'm just used to it. Either way, it's now a non-issue. Enjoy!

Yeah, I've been following the torsen and FRPP seat release info and so far everything points to each part being over $1k/ea... (Still waiting for someone to explain the difference between the $1k T2 on FRPP's site and the $500 T2 on AmericanMuscle...) But IIRC, the R/T pkg is a $1995 option, correct? It'd be nice not to have to spend that extra grand. But then, it's not like I'd mind having only one Recaro, and stripping out the rest of the seats!

I had about a ten hour drive back from San Diego with mine and I was sitting "side saddle" a bit for the last few hours. 6-2, 235. Since then my seat, and my seat, have gotten a lot more used to each other!

In my town, if a special model Mustang comes in, you grab it when you can because it's likely some rich doctor or oil tycoon will come in and swipe them up, and it's more likely that the dealer won't get any additional allocations. It was on the showroom floor and nobody had bought it, and it was going at MSRP. I wasn't going to pass up the chance of immediately driving home in a new BOSS just because it didn't have the R/T package.
I'm extremely happy with my purchase, I just would like the opportunity to get the BOSS specific Recaros (vs the Ford Racing options).

I stopped by my dealer over the holiday weekend and inquired about retrofitting my car with the Recaros... not looking good. The parts guy couldn't see a completed seat in the system, only a small number of pieces that would fail to produce a complete seat, and the total on just those parts already exceeded $1200.

I think the Ford Racing versions are going to be about $1K each. I know you purchased yours off the lot but for those of you ordering cars get the Recaro/Torsen package up front. I think the Torsen diff has a lot to do with why the Boss hooks up so well.
