Tracking the Boss with the PCA
I just got back from a weekend at Mid-Ohio co-hosted by the Potomac and Maumee Valley regions of the Porsche Club of America. I cannot say enough good things about these folks. Great track and a great DE event. Full flagging, safety teams, and in-car instruction for everyone in the lower two classes. A number of the instructors have helmet radios so it's easy to get very detailed guidance.
To top that off, the price was 395$ for all of the above and 5-1/2 HOURS of track time over three days. (Eleven 30 minute sessions)
They have a number of other 3-day DE's coming up this summer, including Watkins Glen (June 22-24) and VIR (Labor Day weekend).
DE info:

Rocketman, you are correct you get a lot for track time with PCA. There are more events at Mid- Ohio this year if you would like to come down e-mail off line and I will give you some dates. I was going to be there but had other plans going to the Glen this week end w/ ARPCA. Did you have any turn in issues at the key hole and the top of madness?. I put over 500 miles on last week end and tried to push it to the limits. I love this car,it is the best of both worlds. ( street and track )

For me Keyhole worked best in the heat of the day on Saturday. I would squeeze the throttle out of 2, and brake hard to get 90% done before the crest of the hill. On Sunday with colder tires I had a lot of understeer there. I think it was because I could put more heat into the rears with the throttle.
In Madness I was happy only 20% of the time. I need to give up a little more coming out of the previous corner, and turn way late in order to not catapult myself off the track under power.

Glad you enjoyed Mid-O as much as I thought you would!!
Did the Track Attack tips from last week help? How'd the new wheel assemblies work out?? Very nice meeting you last week @ Miller. When's your next track day?

My next track event will likely be Watkins Glen with the same PCA folks.
