TracKey patent

For those who are interested, here is the patent ford filed. There are a couple of smaller features I hadn't heard about.

And we got 8:

Lopey Idle

Ford obviously envisioned using this on more than just the Boss as they show an automatic transmission in their schematics and also mention "torque convertor clutch may be disabled and shift points or schedules..."

Does anyone know if cruise control is disabled in TracKey mode? I've never tested that. I know that my AC works with TracKey enabled.

Thanks for the info Chris!!

You need to read the text. I believe those are what the driver will notice. I have not read in detail but they left a lot of wiggle room in the description of what TracKey does with some of their paragraphs

I gots to get me one of those track keys so my A/C doesn't work. lol

Actually I think the A/C and cruise is probably just programmed to not work under certain speeds and throttle positions. 600 parameters it probably changes. Probably takes over 200 parameters just to get the fake cam idle.

It does. That's how it's designed.

A/C works fine as well....except when you get on it fairly aggressively.

Cruise Control - must be more that is is affected by TracKey, which enables the CC buttons for setting Launch Control.

You know TrackKey is just a derivative of the MyKey feature Ford uses right?

as far as i know the dealership was only charging me for the key activation..which is $302. i could have done it last week but i thought the dealer was trying to get some profit out of me....the $302 number sounded a little sketchy.

at least i wont be the only one who paid for it when i get it done.
would have been nice if they included that into the price of the car.
