I took a close up of the grill and will try and post it tomorrow. I first need to recover from my hot laps with Joe Foster aka Front Row Joe.

My bar grille arrives tomorrow, hopefully before I need to leave for the track. If not, I'll have to run Friday w/ the Grille out until my woman can bring it down on Saturday.

Installed track rotors and DTC60s tonight, going to go out and bed them in later. Also did the first oil change and topped off my weeping transmission.
Note to Ford: It is not necessary to tighten the oil filter to One Million Ft-Lbs at the factory. I got it off by applying some gaffer tape for grip. Next step was going to be the screwdriver. No room to swing a strap wrench w/ the Z-brace in there.

AGENT 47 Upper Grille

We looked at the grille assembly today.

AGENT 47 may be able to do something in a quick manner in the form of a replacement upper grille to improve air flow to the radiator.

Any chance someone wants to donate a stock Boss upper grille in trade for a production version of the high flow AGENT 47 unit that we will make?

Bryan you can order a GT grill surround for around $70. I'd use that and not cut up a stock Boss grill if you are planning on doing something like your other S197 grill.

We are planning on modifying an existing Boss unit and keeping the styling pretty close to OEM but open as much as possible.

For that we will need to modify a stock unit and then mold off of it.

Here's the photo of the grill on the car I drove. The passenger side was not cutout between the fog lamp hole and the side.

I'd not seen the backside before, but this grille is even more closed off than my 09 GT one -- even the 'open' areas are rather choked down, and I believe the RoadRunner may generate just a bit more heat than my little 4.6L

It really should have occurred to someone earlier to try without the grille, or at least with a high-flow version, as opposed to just opening the fogs. These cars are apparently not the bottom-feeders the lower bumper openings might imply.

I've seen definite improvement in temps from my Agent47 one, and it looks better than stock.

The honeycomb screen looks a lot better than square screen. Hopefully they come up with something by next Spring. Or better yet maybe Ford gives us all 302S grills with everything cut out and screen across the fog openings.

ZERO heat issues at the track this weekend while running the bar grille, and three bottles of Water Wetter. Never saw the gauge move off the "middle". Full track review and videos later this week.

That's great news Drew. Were you running just distilled water and water wetter or still with an AF mix? Do you have a pic of your new grille on your car?

I am running my grille with the fogs cut out and all the material removed between the horizontal bars this week (Fri-Sun) at BIR. I'll know if this is enough airflow or if we have to just give up on the stock grille on track completely after three days of testing.

Got up to 98*F...made cranking wrenches on the car between sessions a real pain.

Gary: I was planning to run 75/25 distilled + coolant, but I changed my mind and simply drained 36oz from the radiator and added the 3 bottles WW to the existing factory coolant.

My future mother-in-law got a couple good pics of the car w/ the grille on it, will post tomorrow probably.
