Track Key Question
I have a couple of questions, and I'm sorry if this has been brought up before. However, I wanted to ask those of you who have the Track Key, what is it thats so great? Lobbing idle? 5,000 rpm launch? What is the big deal about it??
Doesn't give more power
Costs $200 to $400 bucks- money you can put towards kooks headers and tune
Makes car better for roadtrack, BUT has anyone benefited on a straight 1/4 mile Track times????
If you have some experience with it and have some suggestions or advice- please chime in. Negative or positive
I don't want to install software which cannot be reversed, and can't add some more horsepower or torque.
Please dont tell me about superchargers or turbos- I don't want to go that route right now.. Just NA, best power using light/equal bolt ons. I'm leaning towards kooks, CAI, and possible throttle body if there's one available for our cars.
Thanks and have a great day

I bought it for the loping idle and downshifting sounds. Launch assist is fun to play with too.
I would personally not put an aftermarket tune on my car. Trackey is an inexpensive alternative that gives me a few extra little features that increase my enjoyment of the car. I don't need to see RWHP gains for it to be worth it.

Great and thanks for the feedback Snowman. So, let me understand this correctly. If we Trackkey our cars, then we can't ever put a Cold air kit, and Headers on it or ever modify it? Another words, we have what we have. Steeda has a cold air kit, which it seems can be undone if you do the CAi kit first, and if you want to Trackey it.
Ive heard different things about the Trackey in that some people say the loving idle is hardly noticeable? Is it notably different? And you can also set it to regular idle too, correct?
Also, has the launch feature helped anyone in their 1/4 or 60 foot times?

I have the exhaust baffles removed and the loping idle is very different. Yes you can disable loping idle through the steering wheel controls.

Faster accelerator response and increased engine braking help me autocrossing the car. Also, like the launch control at the drag strip.
There is much confusion about CAI/tune and effect on Trackey.
Wish someone from Ford Racing would give us a straight answer.

You have to use a cai that does not require tuning with the red key .... You also can run long tubes and a full exhaust the new. Computer with the wide band o2s compensates just fine I tested it on Dez racing Dyno to make sure ....
I have the redkey in my car I wanted to get that tuned specifically but it doesn't look like that's ever going to happen
So I put back in my sct tune and noticed 2 things one as expected the ruff idle launch control and pit speed are gone
THe engine breAking has stayed ....... I had my pedal to gas slowed back down In one of my tunes that I use for autcross . ..... I tend to get into the gas. To fast and spin the tires and this helps me a bit and eliminates the traction control cutting in when I shift from 2 to 3rd during the autocross ........ Yes I said that right 3rd during an autocross I hit the rev limiter in 2nd

Hi Snowman, thanks a lot for posting that video. I can hear the lobing idle.
Appreciate it

I took a crappy iPad video of the transition from the regular idle to Lopey Idle. Hope it helps. Apologies for the poor quality.

I got it for the lopey idle, also I veiw it as a option for the car that wont be around forever from Ford Racing/Ford. If I ever sell, it couldn't hurt to have it as a selling point.
