Hey Guys,

I bought my Car off the showroom floorand missed out on ordering recaro/torsen.

So........ I'm about to purschase the Torsen for those of you who have it should I spill the $800.00 for it. I was thinking yes, however Let me know.

Yes the car will eventually be tracked......

Thanks in advance,

When you say "track" do you mean autocross/road racing or drag. The word is that it is not the "best" for drag. More meant for autox/road racing.

Torsen is a must. Really helps digging out of an apex. More power, more dig.

I know its certainly much less maintenance than a Tlok based unit, I'm just curious if at $800 the money isn't better spent elsewhere.

Carlos-
I'll pile on as well and say yes to the Torsen diff if road racing is in the car's future.

The only thing I would qualify with this is that trackdays aren't road racing.

If you're going to road race for real, you shouldn't be doing it with a car you drive on the street (unless you're willing to do without the car for long periods of time if/when you crash it).

Otherwise I would say wait until you actually feel the need for it before upgrading. Sure, if you would have ordered it in advance, that might've been a good thing, but I see no reason to go out and do this upgrade proactively.

There are many other things that can (and should) be slowing you down out there, so the small marginal advantage you'll get from a Torsen over the standard locking diff is not likely to be material. (IMO, of course)

Edit: One thing: In my opinion the Recaro seats will make a much bigger difference than the Torsen in terms of lap times. Look at those first.

You might want to consider the T2R instead of the T2. If you decide to change it, why not spend a couple hundred more and get the Race Torsen.

Dave,

Did not respond I was working hard, however this is a good idea and i did look into it i think I might do this better. In regards to the recaros im would love those also. Hard to fine with the Boss302 logo I will wait and see if I can get these aftermarket eventually. Thus far i have only seen the ford racing ones and last time i checked these are still not avalible....

Thanks y'all
