Taking the Boss out for a spin?
Taking the Boss out for a spin?
What do you guys think. Would I be crazy to take it out for a ride its been in storage and we had snow 2 weeks ago and there is alittle salt at corners of the street. Would it hurt to just go for 15 minutes ride? Roads are bone dry.
Took it out, ended up putting about 20 miles on it. I went to the local Ford Dealer and checked out there White Boss its # 3055, I took picture of Vin and Serial plate. My car was parked outside the glass room where the Boss was and my car ended up being a showcase, I had like 5 or more people all walking around it and checking it out. They waited for me to leave and when I started it and had menioned the trackey, they wanted to hear it, For once the Idle actually had a nice lope
.
Needless to say they seemed to like it alot

It rained hard here for the first time in forever on Monday. My DD wasnt available so I took my wife to work, picked her up, and even dropped her off at a friend's house so I could have her car and leave the Boss in the garage. She knew better than to think that I was doing her any favors.
But if the road surface is really dry, you should be O.K.
You may get some salt dust on the undercarriage, but without water it won't activate the corrosion process. Then next Spring you can go to car wash that has a good wheel and undercarriage spray and wash that all off ... or drive through a large rain puddle!
My Boss is staying put in the hangar, and is out of sight and out of mind.
When the warm Spring weather starts, then I'll be chomping at the bit again to take it out for a rip.

. It gets into areas that you cant wash out. Also leaving the salt dust on and storing the Boss for winter, it will be exposed to moisture unless it's in a climated controled room. The standard garage will have good amounts of moisture on rainy days. Is it worth the risk
................Hell yes!
Even if its a 20 minute drive. There only Brand New Once and thats the day you pick it up from the dealer.
