Stock Market not Only Thing Down...LS $3k under MSRP

My Autotrader alert popped up this morning with a Black Boss for $45k-ish. I went to the dealer site and saw this....looks like an LS, what a deal. If I didn't want orange and a back seat so bad...

This may actually be legit. However if 17 of us suddenly call the price will be back up into ADM territory.

Someone should call dibs on this.

Same thing here in AZ

I called yesterday and they told me it was sold. The new owner hadn't picked it up yet. It is still on their website this morning though. I really don't think that someone was able to buy this LS for that price.

Interesting, I've found a case where someone in town went into a dealership and negotiated a similar discount on a Boss, had some papers to that affect drawn up, then when he returned the price went up. After some forum discussion he was directed towards Customer Service, who apparently didn't take too kindly to the bait and switch. The customer got a Boss at the quoted price, from a dealer of his choice.

I suggest we let CS/Deysha know about each case as they come up. The documented cases can give ford some leverage to bring these dealers into line.

If the dealer puts the car on the internet with a VIN and price, it can be considered by many states as a formal statement of offer. Its not as binding as a signed contract obviously, but it still holds legal implications of which can be used against "bait and switchers". Further, the laws around truth in advertising could be utilized in a pinch, but to lesser effect.

I agree that it's pretty lousy for a business to advertise price A but when you call or visit, it's price B. Society doesn't tolerate this kind of behavior from a local food market or department store, but then again their prices aren't negotiable, up or down.

We did have one automobile manufacturer do set pricing, but now Saturn is out of business. Good thing too, I cringe everytime my mother in law drives by in her crappy little burgundy sedan...

If the market keeps up the trend it's been on we will see a lot of Boss car's way under MSRP.
Anyone who would pay over msrp with this current market is a idiot!

The way the market is going, an LS or GT500 under MSRP might be a good hedge. At least they are "tangible assets", not just a number in an acc.ount

There are far better asset hedges than a mustang.

Yes. Do that.

Whatever you do don't get a male order bride. That's a whole different problem.
