Still on quest to get 2013 Boss

Right now I have a 2010 GT Preminum in great shape with 23,000 miles. My dream car is the 2013 Boss in red w/black stripes. Problem is I need to get the monthly payments to be the same as my 2010. In order to do that I need to sell my 1978 Z28 Camaro and sell my 2010 Mustang out right as the dealer won't give me enough in trade.

The good news is my local dealer has one allocation for a Boss and would charge me "only" MSRP. The bad news is trying to sell the Z28. It needs alot of body work (rust, faded paint), it is a 1978 after all. The problem with the 2010 Mustang is I have never sold a car worth $24,000 before. I am not sure how to make sure I don't get riped off with a fake check and the like. The KBB price for the GT is $19-$23 and $21-25k (trade-in vs private sale). Anyone have a good handle on really what used 2010 Mustangs are going for and how easy or hard it would be to sell? Is eBay a good place to sell a GT? Thanks.

just guessing, I am assuming your payment now is around $430-$500 a month.
With $0 down you mightas well figure on $800-$900 or more a month payment or in the ball park.
if your mustang is not payed off, I would not trade it in.
In fact, I would not trade it in at all and sell it via private party. Pay off the note and take in equity you have in it and apply it as your down payment on the boss. I would not even worry about trying to sell the 78 as not even seeing it I doubt if its worth over $2500 right now.
OR...you could combine the sell of your z28 with with your 2010 equity towards your down payment. Lets just say you owed $12,000 on your stang...
What is the actual financable value of your stang now? See where I am going? You would have to sell it for market value and STILL pay it off.
Share more details and Id be more than happy to give you a guesstimate of where you would be. Don't trade the stang in for the boss, I can tell you that for sure.

Thanks for the come back guys. here are the latest figures I just ran:

KBB - trade-in = $21-25k, private deal = $23-27k
Edmunds - trade-in = $22k, private deal = $24k.

I owe $18.5k on the GT. My current payment is $464. I can get a 3% loan. Cost of new Boss with tax is $46,500. If I can clear $4k on Mustang and get $7k for Z28, that would put me close to $464 monthly payment. According to Hagerty the Z28 is worth around $7800.

I think you are being way modest on your figures. Using your figgures on the haggerty calculator: purchasing vehicle 46,500
down payment $11,000
6 year term @ 2.9%
is $537.79
which is not close to $464 a month, thats $73 a months difference...
I guess what I am trying to say is you need to error on the high side...
not the low side.... As you will come out closer to a realized target not the other way around.

Where do you get a 6 year 2.9%? Usually the more years you go the higher the rate.

Hey bro... I know your just kiddin around.. I honestly do..
But joe has asked a pretty legitimate question. He wants a 13 boss..
And I know you probably mean your post in fun.. I really do...
But can we not find ways to help him now? Then if the thread gets lost or washed out or high jacked maybe we can fill it with comedy towards the last posts?
Lets try to help him instead of working on getting the post to go towards something outside of what he wants.. Which is a logical way to get his dream car shall we?

There are a lot of variables. How much is he going to finance is where to begin. What is that amount? What kind of payment can he afford?

Have them meet you at their bank, and have the bank issue the check directly to you or transfer the funds to your bank. Never take a check directly from someone you don't know (or do know in some cases)

I just got 2.59 for 72 months from BBT through my dealer FWIW.

To OP, I would suggest selling the Camaro first. See how long that takes and what you get for it. If it takes you months to sell then contemplating your current mustang value is pointless unless you plan on buying the Boss while hoping to sell the camaro for the right money.

I have great credit and put 25k down and couldn't find that. How much did you actually finance?
