Many of you know that I've had a Boss 302 Laguna Seca on order since last December. I was supposed to get the dealership's second LS allocation and davesvt2000 was supposed to get their first unit. Well it seems that the dealership was one allocation short and davesvt2000 is STILL getting their first allocation. We've talked about it over the phone and I decided that this was my chance to rethink my choice in Mustangs.

So, rather than cry over spilled milk, I did what I should have done in the first place: Buy a real race car!
Soooooo, I have purchased a car built in the championship winning Rehagen Racing shop in Livonia, MI. We brought it home a little over a week ago, and I'm in the process of re-badging it for race duty in the Hallett COMMA racing series for next year. I'll post progress photo's as I go along, but here are some shots from this past weekend.














I will still enjoy seeing everyone who brings their Boss 302's out to the tracks; I just plan on seeing you all in my mirrors.......

Nitpicking a bit. Why does it have Shelby badges? Is that a Hotrod crate motor with FRPP intake manifold? What kind of power?

Dean built two "GT500 clone" club racers (both Torch Red). The first one was sold to a guy in Wisconsin who also has a red GT500 (the Great Lakes TS coordinator). It now has a stroked 3v built by RR (after the 4.6L went boom). Mine still has the factory 4.6L with the FRPP intake, Borla long-tubes and a custom tune. It's a budget racer.......... I'll have time to drop a Boss302R1 in it later

I'm planning on striping it with flat black SuperSnake stripes and eventually installing a Tiger Racing hood (flat black), wing and splitter. The rocker panel lettering will read "GT500 RR"

If it's even 1 second faster than my '07 GT500 at Hallett, I'll be shocked! But it'll be a helluvalot SAFER! And I can modify it as able, to go a lot faster

 

Should make 330ish at the wheels. Great car for Hallett. You'll love it.

First off congrats, you can't go wrong with a car like that.

Secondly, when Jim called me last week, he said he had to get ahold of you to talk about this.
He mentioned he would possibly be able to get you his first '13 LS. Did he in fact ever call ?

 

You must have missed the red car with the roll cage and racing seat in the first post.
