i would hold off driving it too much for a couple weeks...why?
why not list it on ebay and see what gives...or perhaps get hold of barrett jackson....lets say you double your money...then the freebie one would be even more fun driving the **** out of it ;-)
either way...your one lucky guy.

I think 0001 is a conversation piece and only special to those who are into numerology. I'm glad 001 went to someone who cares about such things. Personally I think the best 1 to have for 2012 would be either LS 001 or MP 001 (very first new generation Boss ever). Even then I don't think they'd command much of a premium in the resale market. e.g. Who knows about the first '69 302 or 429? I don't remember any flurry of activity over low KK numbers for the 429.
If I were into special numbers, I'd probably go for my birthyear, birthdate, last 4 of my ssn, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get it.

ehhh I dunno on this whole ebay idea... it's been pretty much Fate up until this point in scoring this one(pun intended). You stumbled upon it, you NEARLY lost it because another Dealer was offering 10K over (if you were, at all, hesitant, that Boss woulda been gone), you agreed to buy it before knowing it's number and it turned out to be the proverbial "golden ticket."
If it were me, I'd hang onto it. Too many variables lined up for you to just turn it for a quick buck.

not that part about the other dealer offering 10k over, that is news to me. all i know is the salesman told me he had two people call and offer to buy the car that day, i still had no idea what number it was at that point.
it doesn't matter other than i was bitter before learning its number that i had to pay over msrp, i had no idea there were other players in the mix. if this guy knows that they let me have the car when they had more money on the table, then Prestige is the greatest dealership on the planet. and that means my repeat business did in fact mean a lot to them while i was thinking they were out for money with the over sticker price.

With #1 you are really in a fix. The car that will be the most valuable in 40 years is the survivor because a car is only stock once. Well, anyway that is the craze now. No one really knows what will happen then. However, you do have something valuable, maybe not now but certainly years from now. It's yours, do what you want.
