SIDE EXHAUST "NO DISC" DECIBEL LEVEL
Current owners; for those that removed the attenuator discs, what is your opinion of the sound level and will it tick off the neighbors and local gendarmes? I want to take mine out but hesitate right now since the exhaust note is terrific under hard accel.

I put mine back in. It was way too loud for me with the disks out and it's not my daily driver. I think it's perfect with the disks in. BTW, I didn't particularly like the sound signature with the sides open.

I am running with the discs out right now. Its definitely on the loud side. Probably too loud for early mornings and close neighbors. It sounds incredible though. You attract attention in this car by the sound alone.
I am going to keep them out for now. I do hope Ford develops and electronic cutout for them. That would be the best of both worlds.

When I get my ride I plan on testing the DECIBLE level in the car, Disc in & Out, Windows up & down + outside the car with my SPL meter, that I use for calibrating sound systems.
If any of you are really curious, there is an APP for iPhone, that I have never used, supposedly it works, I'll post my results, but it looks like a few more months before I receive my BOSS.
Here is a link explaining how the app works:

Also Radio Shack sells a fairly good SPL Meter for around $40.00.

Anything like this for the blackberry. I could use this for my job too so I can write it off!

Alright, she's home. I went to get the decible level but wanted to get a general concensus on distance and placement of the phone. I was about two feet away and it went up to 84 DB if I remember right.

Was that at idle with the discs installed or removed? If removed and at idle, trouble looms ahead for daily drivers.

There is no noise at idle when warm with discs out, starting cold there is a little. I assume there is a lot less sound profing then other stangs as I can hear every piece of sand hitting the wells on side street here.
